"On arrival we received a lovely ice..."
On arrival we received a lovely ice cold towel which was so refreshing after our journey. The service was fantastic throughout our stay. Any problems were solved immediately - we broke our balcony door!!! The hotel is what I expected of a 4 star hotel as in Thailand often the star rating does not match up to what I expect in comparison to English hotels. The breakfast is fantastic - so much choice. The best things are the swim up bar, the amazing views and the beach is literally just a step away. Recommended for budget travellers wanting a few days luxury and those wanting the famous Thai hospitality and relaxation without the high price that usually comes with it.

We stay here the second time and don't regret it. Nice Hotel to stay.Direct excess to the Beach. The Beach is clean and suitable for all age groups. Plenty of restaurants around the Hotel. The
Breakfast could be better, selection is very very limited. But Overall a good place to stay for everybody especially families. Have fun and enjoy to Holiday

"Our stay at Kata Beach resort was..."
Our stay at Kata Beach resort was very pleasant. The location is great, right on the beach! The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms really need to be refreshed (some plaster and painting
for example), they are getting old. We had everything we asked for: connecting rooms, high floor, ocean view and great breakfast included. The staff was very helpful and quick to answer questions and to get us everything we needed. The only negative point is the lack of chairs around the pool. Get up very early in the morning to get a good spot if not you will end up on the beach, paying $6/day for two chairs and an umbrella. It's not so expensive but the pool side with the ocean view is way more comfortable, especially without all the people selling stuff on the beach who don't have access to the hotel site. We were traveling with our two teenagers who really enjoyed their stay. Thank you Asia Rooms.

"We enjoyed our stay at Kata Beach..."
We enjoyed our stay at Kata Beach Resort. The location was fantastic - right on the beach and close to eating places etc. The resort had excellent facilities and a very good breakfast with a
lot of variety. Meals at the hotel were ok and more pricey than you would find at other restaurants outside the hotel. All the staff were helpful, friendly and obliging. We were a little disappointed with the room itself. The bathroom was rather old and we had a lot of ants. The bed was hard and smelt a little musty. We had a balcony but it looked onto the roof of another building. We managed to squeeze in an extra bed for our preschooler and a cot for our baby but more room would have been nice. We would most likely stay at this resort again but would not pay the peak season prices.

"In general it was a pleasant stay...."
In general it was a pleasant stay. Good points are: -> the location right on the beach -> the rooms -> the rich and tasty buffet service in the restaurant Bad points are: -> pool
not big and not deep, not so good if you want to swim (but anyway the sea nearby is fantastic..) -> in the surroundings nightlife finishes already 1am -> DON'T USE the taxi standing in front of the hotel (spec. car plate ..3003): you will agree one rate and after they'll ask you double!! I didn't to the police just because I had no time.

"We travelled to Kata beach for my..."
We travelled to Kata beach for my Birthday & found our stay at The Kata Beach Resort to be quite pleasant! Breakfast was good. The overall resort was quite nice looking, with lovely gardens &
pool.We had a delux seaview room on the ground floor which was a great choice as we have an 18mnth old son! It was great whilst he was knapping to be only 6 paces from the room! Room service was excellent & the room was always clean. We also utillised the "babysitting" service which was excellent. However, having said that the rooms definately need a "little upgrading" & sprucing up!Alittle outdated. As other people have mentioned - yes, the beds are firm BUT we liked that!Location was excellent in relation to shops, restaurants & the beach outlook! We loved that aspect.Staff were quite nice, however other guests have been right saying the pool staff are a little lazy......more attention would be nice! Thanks for a good trip! "This ws my third visit to Phuket,..."
This ws my third visit to Phuket, but the first time I had stayed at Kata Beach. It was so much nicer than Patong! It was lovely to be able to watch the surfers whilst
still being able to swim in the clear, warm waters. Hotel was right on the beach, although still had to pay for chairs on beach as they were seperate from Hotel. Hotel staff were generally ok, although not very helpful when I asked for a late check-out. I was just shown a price list and no offer was made to accomodate my request. Lots of couples and a few families. Enough to keep you occupied for evenings but if you want to shop you need to go to Patong.

"Kata is really the place to be...."
Kata is really the place to be. You have everything from 7-11 to markets, and from street food to up-scale restaurants, so more convenient and alive than Bang Tao etc. without the hysteria and beer-bars
of Patong. In addition, Kata and Kata Noi offer far better beaches than Patong or Karon, and not far from Nai Harn. Kata Beach Resort is one of the few well located hotels on Kata. Central and beach-front avoiding the blocking that Club Med does for most others. The hotel is large, with a nice pool area mostly targeted to kids/families (not deep, not suited for swimming) adn direct access to Kata Beach. Overall great staff (and a lot of staff). Clearly the hotel is not brand new, even if it's kep in good shape. Fitness centre a bit worn down, and not too inviting, but it works. Only immediate area for improvement would be for the pool-side bar, where the staff hardly speaks English, are very passive and the menue could be a bit more exciting.

"We spent 8 nights in a Grand..."
We spent 8 nights in a Grand Deluxe Seaview room with a king sized bed. The room itself was clean and enormous with a small veranda. The bathroom has a bath/shower. We enjoyed our stay
at this hotel very much. The staff were friendly, helpful, yet unobtrusive. There are 2 pools, one with a swim-up bar where there is a happy hour from 5.30pm each day - perfect for relaxing with a cocktail while watching the beautiful sunset. I've seen people complain about the number of sun lounges available, but we had no problems finding lounges and an umbrella daily (this during the high season). Yes, people do 'reserve' their spots early, but if they are silly enough to waste their relaxation time trying to grap the best lounges at 6:30am in the morning........ it happens everywhere. The setting is excellent - right on the beach, close to restaurants, shops and there is a taxi/tuk-tuk rank right outside. Breakfast is fine also, with an egg station, cereals, juices and other items that change on a daily basis.
