The best feature of the Chedi is...
The best feature of the Chedi is the beach - only two hotels share this beach making it effectively a private beach. While quite short, less than 600m, it (the sand) and the water are great colours and there is a bit of a swell to use the body board provided. The hotel does have a lot of stairs, but without a gym, it proves to be good exervice. Breakfast buffet had a good selection. Phuket beaches are full of rentable beach chairs and hawkers. Thankfully, this beach was very quiet, with only a select group of a few hawkers offering fruit and drinks at dirt cheap prices. Also 1hr massage on the beach was very good at around 400THB. Beach service from the hotel is non-existant, you have to walk to the staff desk to order food or drinks from the hotel - better off taking a handful of baht and buying things from the beach vendors. Rooms are very spaceful and feel like your own treetop hideaway. Resturant meals were good although a little pricey.

A lovely traditional Thai style decor hotel....
A lovely traditional Thai style decor hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful with a great beach. The only downfall was the 150+ steps we had to climb to get from the beach to our cottage. Other than that it was a great place to stay and I'd definitely go back again!

Chedi is sharing the same beach with...
Chedi is sharing the same beach with Amanpuri and this beach is supposedly the best beach in Phuket. Their reviews were not bad, and for over 350$ a night, we thought it would turn out nice. However Chedi was old and not well-maintained. Further the door knobs and cupboard knobs were all falling out the moment we tried to pull it. The room was very small as well. Since we were there during the rainy season, there was not much to do within the hotel. Food is pricey and not great. We moved to the Amanpuri immdly the following day.

This is the second time I have...
This is the second time I have stayed at the Chedi. The setting is beautiful, the Hotel overlooks the ocean and the beach is very quiet. The pool and beach side are great, we spent most of our time lazing on the beach. The drink sellers on the beach are very helpful and drinks are wellpriced. Try the fresh coconut! Be aware that the Hotel is on a hillside, this means that all the hillside bungalows are literally on a hill. We stayed at room 219 - the climb from the main building to the room was a very steep climb - ok if you are fit but not suitable for kids or the elderly. Am guessing its about a 100 stair climb to the room! We did have a problem with no hot water during our stay. We called the plumbers twice, was never quite right, would have expected better follow up on the issue. F&B staff are very good, definitely superior to reception staff.

We had a good time in Chedi...
We had a good time in Chedi Resort Hotel. it would be a destination for couple who wants to get a relaxed and quite weekend.Evertthing is good except everything is quite pricy for what you get. We stayed in Dulex cottage where is very close to the beach. The bungalow architecture is beautiful resort looking with pretty of space and clean. Hillside bungalows have quite a lot stairs to walk down to the beach,so not recommend for seniors and families have small kids. The beach is beautiful, clean and peaceful with soft white sands. The sea was a bit rough in this season,but luckily it was sunny. Food and service are good. The buffet on Sat night is highly recommended,offering Thai food with lobster, shrimp etc seafood. The only pity was when we left for airport, we had a bad feeling as the taxi wanted to charge much more to go to airport though its the same distance. On the way to hotel was THB450, but back to airport needs THB700. and hotel taxi is even more expensive. These kind of thing will not happen in the same ranking holte in Japan and western country.

If you like lying by the pool...
If you like lying by the pool or the beach for the whole day whilst you read your book, eat & drink, this is the place for you. Relaxing is an understatement. So luxurious, fantastic place for couples - there were a few children there, but mainly other couples. Room was fantastic - lucky us went in low season & got an upgrade!! Staff couldn't have been friendlier!! Always made sure we were looked after, friendly to have a chat, and all speak English well. Food at the hotel is not cheap like the food in Patong, same prices that i would pay if going out for dinner at home. There are several restaurants down the street that are cheaper. Also great there are people on the beach during the day you can buy cold drinks from very cheap. Hotel drinks VERY EXPENSIVE. Overall, fantastic, i would return without hesitation.

Had a EXCELLENT stay at Chedi. Nice...
Had a EXCELLENT stay at Chedi. Nice and very calm little bungalow on the hillside under banana and coconut trees... Pool, bar, restaurant and service VERY pleasant as well. Lot of stairs that's why would not recommend hillside for families or senior. Maybe the most beautiful - and almost private - beach in Phuket. Will return.

the bay was calm and lovely. the food...
the bay was calm and lovely. the food choices excellent. the bungalo was classy and comfortable. service staff had the bad habit of talking amongst themselves around you and at times, the language barrier was an impediment to excellent service.

We are used to traveling to five...
We are used to traveling to five star hotel and that one did not meet our expectations. The restaurant is overpriced and the choice is poor. In the room, you are given one towel, not more...the mirror was not properly cleaned, bathroom supplies were not replaced daily... The entrance hall is gloomy and the staff was not friendly at all... Never seen a hotel before in which you cannot take a taxi, they only offer you their own taxi servie (a lot more expensive than a regular cab of course... The bathroom is definately not the one of a five star hotel, ( only a shower and it looks like the one of a two star hotel...)I would definately go somewhere else....
