We had booked a hillside cottage and were upgraded to the next level. We were very glad once we saw the rooms and the amount of stairs we would have had to climb to get to a hillside cottage. The resort is tired, and stairs are everywhere - to get to the pool, to the restuarants, the bathroom let alone the rooms. The Beach is DIVINE though, and the food and service was usual Chedi standard - that is great. The bathrooms have no bath which was disappointing. The hotel provides ample drinking water bottles for you which is fabulous (much better than the usual 2 small bottles most hotels provide), but it would be nice if this was also brought to you on the beach and poolside. The staff were fabulous and helped us light wishing lanterns on the beach which is above and beyond their duties. We loved the beach and the spa was excellent, but overall a difficult hotel with 2 small children given the stairs and noisy floors!
