The hotel itself was what I've come to expect from Novtel - good, clean, reliable, friendly service. The only subtractor is that the hotel is built on an extremely steep plot of land, about 10-15 minutes walk from the Patong 'village'. The hilliness is a bit of a drag, and may not be the best for older people or kids unless you request a room close to reception (they have a wagon that will drive you between street level and reception), and the locale just out of the centre of Patong would be seen as good by some, but bad by others. My wife and I, both 30, would have preferred to have been closer to the action. The highlights here are the view over Patong and the ocean, the breakfasts, and the 3-level pool. Overall, a good hotel.
