My family of three stayed in Royal Paradise Hotel from Tuesday 02/06/2009 to Friday 05/06/2009 (4D 3N) and had a marvellous time enjoying our stay and tour of various tourist sports/sights in Phuket. Our return tickets were booked at airasia.com and hotel room (triple) in Royal Paradise at asiarooms.com.
[My one- query email to AsiaRooms was expediently answered by AsiaRooms’ customer-care personnel within half hour following receipt of my email! Great!]
Upon arrival at Royal Paradise Hotel in the morning 02/06/2009 at 10am, we were pleasantly surprised to be advised by the pleasant English-speaking Guest Relation Officer that our room had been upgraded by the hotel management without any extra charge. Additionally, we were allowed to check in at 10 a.m. (again without extra charge) although we noted that the check-in time was supposed to be at 12 noon.
Room service and the services at the customer service/check-in counter were served by friendly and courteous staff. Overall, services were efficiently served. For mobile-phone users, they can have their phone batteries recharged at the check-in counter.
The variety of breakfast menu items was adequate, dishes running low on food items were quickly replenished and value for money.
Royal Paradise Hotel is centrally located in Patong town itself, and there is no lack of availability of cafes/restaurants/local tour offices which are everywhere in the hotel's surrounding neighbourhood.
Transport is easily available as there are hundreds of 'tutuks' and taxis plying the roads. Motor cycles and bicycles are also readily available for hire by the budget conscious visitors from owner-firms neighbouring the hotel.
The Patong beach is within some 20-minute walking distance from Royal Paradise Hotel, with numerous night market stalls/shops/restaurants along the one-km stretch of road parallel to Patong beach sea-side.
There's one important note to remember however. That is, when shopping at the shops selling souvenirs etc, the first price offered by the stall owner is, based on our own experience, was almost always about two times that which the stall owner was prepared to sell. Thus, the wise purchasers should be mindful to haggle with the seller with initial counter-offer purchase price of some 30%/40% of the initial seller's office price. haha
Some recommended tour spots/activities are: take a half-day taxi drive to tour the surrounding tourist spots in the city area (Phuket city); speed boat excursion tour to neighbouring islands; a must- see visit to Phuket Fantasia, particularly to enjoy the cultural variety shows there, and Simon Cabaret where the artistes are 'man-ladies' [it's great fun watching the shows!].
One the whole, my three family members thoroughly enjoy ourselves during our four-day visit in Phuket. And, we would favourably recommend impending visitors and tourists to stay at Royal Paradise. Your stay there, with the courteous service provided and visitor-friendly environment, will be a joy to experience for all!
Cheers!
