After a long flight, we were welcomed with cool scented washcloths and a glass of fresh orange juice and wonderful hospitality. A great welcome to Patong! Unfortunately, we had requested 2 beds, but the room that had been reserved had only one, so we were moved to a higher floor with a smaller room - still lovely and more than adequate, however. The Seaview is located at the much quieter southern end of Patong Beach, which was great for us - Patong is quite crowded and a bit crazy, so being away from the fray a bit was very relaxing. The walk to "downtown" is substantial, especially in the heat, however there are tuk-tuks and taxis parked across the street and available for a reasonably priced ride at all times. The hotel and its facilities were excellent - the restaurants were nice and fairly reasonably priced (by Thai standards - cheap by US standards) for those who want convenience. The breakfast offered pretty much anything one could want, including eggs cooked to order. The pools were wonderful and very clean and the spa was fantastic - be sure to get a massage while you're staying at the Seaview. The only reason I would stay anywhere else would be to get out of Patong a bit to a quieter, more relaxed location, such as Karon or Kata. If staying in Patong Beach, I would not hesitate to recommend the Seaview to anyone.
