I stayed at this hotel with my family for 6 days in February 2005 and i must say that it is a good 3-star hotel with good location and a beautiful swimming pool. However the superior rooms are in serious need of renovation, especially the bathroom. Mosquitoes are also a problem. Breakfast is OK with a fair choice of food.

My stay at Thara Patong was of a bitter sweet experience. I had 2 families that I recommend to stay in Thara. Althought I've never stayed in Thara but due the it's cost and location I tried it out.
One of the family arrive in Thara only to be given a wrong room. The reception keeps calling me to contact my friends despite me informing them that my friends have gone out to tour Patong Bay. The reception insist on move their belonging without their approval.
Second family unfortunately lost their room key and had to paid 1000bath fine. Hotel claim that they had to purchase a new lock but instead refitted a secondhand or used lock for their door. The hotel manager refuse to speak to them on this matter. Also they experience some loud commotion (sexual stuff) in their a joining room make it unpleasent for them as a family.
On return back to Singapore, we felt that if we ever to visit Phuket again, Thara Patong will not be in out list of hotel.

Thara Patong is well located in the heart of Patong Beach and a footstep from the beach. I stayed both in Premier and Deluxe type rooms. While Premier rooms are more expensive, they are a lot bigger, washroom are big with both a shower and bath and would be the best option for familly travelling with young children. The U-shape hotel has two pools in a well-decorated tropical garden. Rooms are very quiet and you can hardly hear street noises.
