We only spent two days at the Baan Laimai but as we'd come from very basic huts on Phi Phi, this was a slice of heaven. The room was large, with an enormous bed and the bathroom was lovely with a proper flushing toilet and a hot shower!!! The air conditioning was quiet and efficient allowing you to forget how hot it was outside. The pool and sunbathing area was very attractive and perfect for swimmers but non swimmers only had a small shallow area (there were rubber rings floating around though).
The location is fantastic - walk out of the front door, across the road and you're on the beach - it was also far enough away from the sleazy bars that you didn't have to see that side of Patong if you didn't want to.
The staff were helpful and attentive, the concierge? carrying both our large rucksacks to and from the taxi when we arrived and left.
The restaurant and bar area are large, open air and attractive with lots of choice of food and drinks. The only negative aspect of the hotel in our opinion was the live band - they were so awful it was funny! - but everyone's taste is different.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel - we really enjoyed our stay there.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very adequate, the restaurant food was quite good and there was a good selection, the entertainment at night was a very good Philippine band, and the hotel is tight across the street from the beach and very close to the night life on Bangla Road (the main street).

We stayed at the Baan Lamai for 7 nights, in Patong, and absolutely loved our time here. We are a couple in our early 30s. The location was great its 50meters from the beach and they have a great restaurant and fab entertainment (live band) every evening, which was perfect once you decided you had enough of the in your faceness of Patong. Perfect for couples the hotel staff were great and the restaurant staff were so so friendly and polite. Free internet access for everyone who stays and lovely pool if you dont fancy the beach. We stayed in a garden facing room, and it was a lovely size, very clean and modern with excellent Tv/Sat facilities if it rains. Great value for money, cheapest rate we saw was on Asia room although we went in and negotaited and paid around 2500 baht per room per night.

Was rather disappointed in the service and cleanliness of the hotel. In fact we moved to another hotel mid-way through our stay which was a much better solution for what we were looking for.

My stay in Bann Lai Mai was a pleasant and nice one. It is centrally located and directly opposite the beach. The hotel need to improve on the the following area:- a) train reception staff to understand English; b) the lift stink - need a new carpet; c) water feature in the rooms should be restore or water should be removed to avoid breeding of mosquitoes.

Well worth the money,location was great,never felt like I was in the centre of Patong.The rooms were clean and spacious although sometimes noisy with the nightly entertainment.The breakfast was a little disappointing,could have more of a selection.I would stay here again as I liked the pool area and the staff were friendly.6/10

The price is good and the location is great. Huge rooms with all the geat dinings just outside the hotel. Dissapointed as it does not have a bathtub. Will recommend all my friends to this hotel and will be back here very very soon.

Beautiful Hotel in a great location. I would definitely book the pool side deluxe bungalow for a real treat. The bungalow was very nicely decorated, if perhaps slightly tired in the bathroom. The pool was excellent, and exceptionally clean. It really feel like you were in a haven away from the hustle of the main street and beach. You actually are on the main beach road and are perhaps 10 metres away from the start of the hotel to the beach. The restaurant is very well known and perhaps one of the busiest on the stretch.
Down side - had an issue with the Duty Manager (Jack) who was quite cheeky about the supplement (that must be paid for New Year) - stormed off and threatened to repay our money and turf us out, when we innocently asked if we had to go to the Gala dinner (which was very badly attended - due to other people being angry about being forced to pay and attend).
Apart from that though - an excellent stay - very highly recommended!
It's like small version of Banyan Tree...
It's like small version of Banyan Tree Resort....Just jump into the pool as at when you like. A value for money hotel in the centre along Patong beach. Good!
