The rooms are nice. The breakfast spread is good. It is a lttle difficult to find but it adds to its charm. However, overall, we left disappointed. There were communication problems with staff overall and service was sub-par. One lady and a gentleman at the reception was most unfriendly. If possible, try to deal with them only when necessary as their attitude could really ruin your day. A waiter at the Otter's Bar was really fun and he really made our very brief evening there very pleasant. The beach is really overrated. On our final morning, something really unbelieveable happened. There was this local guy who appeared in his dark glasses and was clearly furious we swam in the pool by the beach because the pool is supposed to be open only after 9am. Yes, we (there was me and another nice lady from England) were guilty for hopping over a rope for an early morning swim. But he appeared later with a pail and started pouring white liquids into the pool as he walked along, chanting along that if we want to swim, we can go ahead and take the risks of chlorine poisoning. I jumped out of the pool. The English lady was not aware and her partner, who was admiring the sunrise by the poolside quickly reacted and got her out. This is my third visit to Phuket but likely to be my first and only to this hotel. Oh yes, one last thing about excursions: please avoid Phuket Orchid Farm. I cannot emphasize this enough. It is a con-job.
