Cape Panwa April
Great Hotel in a quiet area. Great place to stay if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. The resort is lovely and very comfortable. The jetty is quite a highlight as this is not common in hotels. You can join fishermen on the jetty catching fish. The water is so clear that you can even see the fish in the sea.
If you need to be part of the hustle and bustle, the hotel offers a daily evening service to Patong Beach.
Cape Panwa beach is nice with white sand and blue water on high tide, but there are quite a few rocks in the water and on low tide the beach can look quite ugly compare to some other beaches. But don't let that put you off staying here as Cape Panwa is a unique experiece. What was more disappointing however was that there was a navy ship parked in the distance and a goods ship to the left of the sea which made you feel that you were in a port rather than at a beach! It's not really my idea of a paradise beach, but this scenery is liked by others and in some ways unique and something to look at while having a bathe, so it's a personal opinion.
The bar cocktail drinks at the beach are a little disappointing for the price you pay. The tropical punch was literally ready made and full of sugar and not really presented in a cocktail glass. There are quite a few choices of restaurants so a few nights stay here will keep you busy.
The room were large, spacious and modern with a contemporary style. We had a lizard residing in our room by the ceiling, but it didn't really harm us. With such hot weather, it's difficult to stop this happening. The bath was a little dirty. It seemed the cleaner had missed this from the previous residents, however housekeeping were great and attended to the matter straight away. Generally the staff are very friendly and will try to help in any way.
After seeing some of the other places in Phuket, I would still recommend this place and is a quiet getaway ideal for a couple or a small family.

Good place to stay
Cape Panwa hotel is a good place to stay if you're looking for some quiet time off... Booked a Junior suite double and must say that the room is very spacious, well designed and clean...my wife simply loved it. They have their own private beach which is amazing with the white sands...also, their sister hotel Kantary Bay is not too far away and you can get a free shuttle every 10 mins for the same... The staff is friendly and always greet you with a smile. Had a complimentary trip to the coral islands and that is another beautiful destination if you love swimming at the beach and snorkelling. We were also offered a complimentary cake by the hotel to welcome us for our honeymoon. However...not quite upbeat on the food...am a vegetarian and not much of a variety available here... Almost 30 minutes away from Patong (the central area for resaurants and nightlife) and an hour away from the airport, it is a fair distance away as transport here is a lil on the expensive side. If you're looking to travel from the airport, you'll get a cab from outside for 750 Thai Baht ( Rs. 1200 or US $ 26.00)....on the way back to the airport, hotel has a shuttle for which they charge you 1000 Baht but you can get a cab from outside for arnd 800 baht if u bargain with the cabbie. There are no tuk tuks available here... The hotel also offers a round trip to patong for 300 baht which is excellent... Excellent place to stay, very relaxing and great service...we had a great time except for a bad breakfast which is ok...thank you cape panwa!!

Would certainly recommend this hotel. Pleasant ambiance, very spacious resort style layout so you don't feel "squashed in". The room was clean and had everything you could need, lovely view of the sea, huge balcony and very quiet but it was a bit "tired" looking. The balcony furniture had certainly seen better days but thats ok. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the one meal we had in the coffee shop was certainly ok and very reasonable Not a lot to do if you are looking for excitement and night life but other than this would certainly recommend.

I stayed 6 nights last December (2008). It is better to have its pwn car (I got one) or motorbyke for it is far away from other places (PHUKET TOWN, KATA, KARON and so on). There is a nice free shuttle between CAPE PANWA and sister hotels opposite the hill (less than 1 mile but with a steep road). there are some restaurants on the hill (5 minutes walk). I got a bedroom which was just in front of the pub (LIGHT HOUSE) of the hotel and it was a little bit noisy (music) at night. I noticed the point the day after my check-in. I got immediatly a room change with a complimentary upgrade (bedroom with jacusi : junior suite). Breakfast are nice and staff was very pleasant. There is also soùme villas with 2 bedrooms. Beach is nice but not always suitable for swimming. Anyway this is a nice place.

A very large hotel, anomyous and old. For a four star hotel we expectet much more. The rooms from the 80th and the bathromm style from the 70th. The beach and the gardenbeach is beautiful. You can reach it via hundrets of steps or a cablecar. The breakfast was ok. Most of the guests were from Britain and Russia. The service was professionel and friendly but not personally. And if you need help - pay for it. This hotel: Sorry, but never again.

Elevated position somewhat worrying when you first arrive but proved to be no problem given the free and frequent shuttle bus and beach lift. Rooms standard sort of size, clean and with good facilities as is the hotel generally. Nice beach, although a bit rocky when the tide is out so limited swimming time. Option of shade under the trees when it is really hot. Food is of a good standard and initially seems a reasonable price until you add on the 10% service charge and VAT. Staff very friendly, relaxed and helpful, but not intrusive. Would definitely go there again. If you want a quiet spot to contrast with such as Patong beech it is ideal.
