The hotel is too far outside of Patong, with no possibility of shopping small items nearby.
The beach is very poor. We stayed there 10 days without being in the water.
The pool bar was very breached.

very poor service at this hotel
The staff at the hotel are unresponsive and slow. They are not vigilant when surveying a group of customers, and need to be hailed to obtain service, even when not busy, which was all the time. The rooms are tired and need refreshing. The hotel is way overpriced, as is transportation into Patong. 24 Pounds per night - absolute rip-off.

Nice hotel but being out on the...
Nice hotel but being out on the peninsula makes it difficult to get to Patong and back and 'mafia' taxi's are expensive for the short journey. Lovely pools and beach. Food great, especially for the price. Good range of excursions at reasonable prices too.

Absolutely loved it! The pools were amazing,...
Absolutely loved it! The pools were amazing, happy hour was great. The standard room was terrific. The food was a bit expensive once they added on taxes but there was a great restaurant just on the beach which was cheap and delicious. I would definitely stay there again!!!

The hotel staff has really bad attitude...
The hotel staff has really bad attitude problem. They do not understand who is the customer and what should be the role of the service personnel. This includes both room service and reception staff, especially at the evening shift. Really poor performance and I am not joking.

My family of 4 (2 adults and...
My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children) just return from a 3 nights' stay in this resort. Reasonably decent and cozy though the price is a little steep during the peak season. However if you are one that prefers to be out for dinner/meals, shopping etc everyday, then this is not recommended as without transport, you wont be able to get out from this resort. The timing of the free shuttle bus is ok. Suitable for families that do not want to get out of the resort as there is a nice beach infront of the hotel. Note that you have to pay 100 bht for the beach chair though! Strange ...

I found Merlin Beach Resort to be...
I found Merlin Beach Resort to be a great place to stay. The staff are all excellent and especially the pool bar staff. It is a good location not too far out of Patong beach and there is never a wait to jump on a tuk tuk and go to Patong. I would definitely recommen this resort and stay again.

The resort was fantastic. I highly recommend this place. The location is great about 4kms away from Patong beach so its well away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were courteous and polite. I definately will be returning, can't wait.

A perfect place to stay for people...
A perfect place to stay for people who do not want to be right in the hustle and bustle of Patong. The staff were lovely. All of the restaurants had beautiful food. And every request we had was looked after very quickly. I will definitely return to this resort, and have already told freidns about it, including one work colleague who has already booked to stay there.

Terrible location, extremely expensive for what it...
Terrible location, extremely expensive for what it is. No prices include the TAX when you are at the hotel. Rooms are old, service was mediocre. Wouldn't recommend.
