hotel is good, nice swimming pool, location is good (close to the beach, close to the "town") but the view is not so good, especially in the room 123-127, 223-227, 323-237 (the view is on the air condition facilities on the building 10 meters away from the balcony). Do not take these rooms. Little small dinning room was not so big problem but around 9.00 o’clock, it was onerous. Generally, we are satisfied and can recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the South Sea Resort...
I stayed at the South Sea Resort from 19-21 October. It was low season in phuket.Superior room was big for a 3 star resort. View was obstructed by the resort beside it. Breakfast was good especially from your table you see the beach. The swimming pool is a bit small but you can get a deck chair anytime. Overall it is good for the price I paid. I will recommend to all my friends. Will be back soon. Also the staff was very friendly.Kob khun krub.

This is the best-located hotel on the...
This is the best-located hotel on the Karon beach for a very reasonable price. It is maximum 3 minutes by walk from your room door to the beach umbrella. From the other hand, you'll have bars, restaurants, souvenirs, exchange etc. at 5 minutes destination by walk. Breakfast, front desk, housekeeping and bellmen - are 4-stars+ level. Tea & Coffee making set is provided in every room, not only in deluxe. If your are not looking for super-luxury and glamour but need some friendly and quiet place just by the beach - it is South Sea. There are only 2 warnings: 1. Do not expect a superior view from your room - nearby buildings are too close. 2. Some rooms and furniture need renovation (but it is not a must). 3. The swimming pool is not big enough (but I did not see more then a dozen people in the pool area – so you can find a free beach chair by the pool at any time). Strongly recommended. I’ll be back to this hotel next year.

The best place we stayed in Thailand. ...
The best place we stayed in Thailand.  Karon is central between Kata and Patong, both about a 100B tuc-tuc ride away.  The South Sea's staff gave us excellent treatment, really first class.  There is a traffic gaurd that solutes each guest on their way in (awesome touch), the bell men arrange cheap cabs and will do anything to make you happy, the tour desk helped us find train tickets to other parts of the country, the front desk spoke very good English, house keeping even folded our laundry.  Rooms were beautiful (just like the picture), the pool cleaned every morning, bathrooms are the same or better than what you would expect in the USA.  The hotel, in USA terms, should be about $150 - $200 per night, 4.5 stars without a problem.  The marble floors when you enter and the small feeling of the hotel made us feel like we were in our own palace, wanting to stay more when we left.  Hotel massage is the best we found anywhere in Thailand in 2.5 weeks of travel.  Beach is across the street, about 30 seconds from any room.  Some tips: If you take a taxi to Phucket Town, don't get the day rate (700B).  There is a bus that goes therefor 20B per person each way and then you can hire a Tuc-Tuc to take you around for the day for about 100B.  Be careful of the surf, under tow is killer on Kata, Karon, and Patong.  Every local we talked to has a friend who had been sucked under and killed by it, we didn't find this out until after we went swimming.  Check with the front desk and they will tell you if it is safe to swim.  Un-like the states a tip is not expected, but the bell men, wait staff and cab drivers all talk and know who the good tippers are. This hotel is a must stay at while on Phucket.
