The hotel is quite far away from the entertainment hub i.e. Patong. That is a plus for someone who want to experience the quieter side of Phuket and family groups.
The Bay hotel in Phuket was great....
The Bay hotel in Phuket was great. very nice and quiet. the view was wonderful, especially from our room, who was in front. it's location is far from the main beach of pattong, but those who like quiet and nice view can enjoy it very mach. there is not jost a room, but a big living-room with a porch, kitchen with a big hot pot, tea and sugar (very clean, but we found little ants on the kitchen surface), a big room with a big bed, and big clean bathroom (shower & tub) with big towells. staff in dining-room and staff in reception were nice and polite. good breakfast. not a lot of things to do at nights. at last great recomend at the bay hotel.

My family and I enjoyed the stay in your hotel and really like the serendipity and peace of mind away from the city...though it was a distance away from the town and activities of the beaches...
On the service part, improvement can be done on the followings:
1) bus service to patong beach or anywhere where the main activities are and charge a minimum cost..
2) have some activities for guests to enjoy the stay..eg like club med style maybe..
3) For the rooms, improvement can be done having wall hooks for hanging used clothing..

The hotel was really nice, and the staff were very friendly. My room was big, and clean. I had a resident gecko, but he wasn't too noisy! The resort of Cape Panwa itself is very quiet, and definitely more suited to couples or those seeking a peaceful place to base themselves at. There were very few places to eat outside of the hotel, and the hotel restaurants were expensive (by Thai standards). Overall, pretty good though.

At first sight, the hotel seems to be of an average rating but when you get into the room you can enjoy the space, the balcony, the kitchen, the safe and the large lounge and more... you can use the facilities of 5stars Cape Panwa Hotel.... GREAT at this price!!! The hotel is a little far from Phuket town centre and from the other attractions but it is worth it if yor looking for quietness.
I stayed 2 nights at The Bay...
I stayed 2 nights at The Bay Hotel. It is a very nice hotel, very quiet, not many activities along the road or nearby areas. It is a mediteranian style hotel with beautiful colours, many flowers, plants all over the hotels. Go the 5th storey swimming pool of the bayside wing in the evening, you will see the most beautiful sunset, trust me. The hotel is not very far from Phuket town, about 30mins by Taxi or shuttle bus. Breakfast not many varieties, but its OK, delicious. There is shuttle service to the other side of the cape, ie Cape Panwa Hotel, by paying 3stars rates, you get to use facilities of 5 stars at Cape Panwa Hotel. Cape Panwa is not so popular to most tourist, I would recommend anyone who is going to Phuket, try this hotel, explore something difference.
The Bay hotel is a sister hotel...
The Bay hotel is a sister hotel to the Cape Panwa Hotel (located 4 minutes away by free shuttle bus). Whereas The Bay Hotel is comparatively quiet, the Cape Panwa is a busy resort hotel with pool and private beach; Cape Panwa facilites are fully availabe to Bay Hotel guests. The Bay rooms are very spacious, and include a fully equiped kitchen and balcony (great for families). The Bay has two average size pools, hardly used during the day when most guests seem to be out of the hotel (sight seeing or at Cape Panwa). The breakfast selection was limited, but reasonable. There are limited lunch options at the Bay (basically one outdoor restaurant), although it does have an extremely good Italian Restaurant (open at 6pm) and two Thai restaurants for dinner. The Bay has no beach available, so you need to go to Cape Panwa Hotel for sand. It is also quite some distance (20 and 40 minutes by road) from the main shopping areas of Phuket Town and Patong. The hotel provides a (pay) bus service, but these are at fixed times which tends to limit your activities. There is not much in the vicinity of the hotel (no beach, no shops, nowhere to walk). Overall, I would recomend The Bay Hotel based on quietness (during my stay at least), room size, facilities (access to Cape Panwa Hotel), and value for money.
