Most schizophrenic hotel ever
The Racha is great - great location, awesome rooms and great food. Service is sometimes a bit untypical for Thailand as it seems that staff is annoyed by guests. Also, in peak hours there are not enough staff on duty and wait times are rather large (ie. 30 min to get a bottle of wine at dinner).
What is however totally schizophrenic is their slogan "hideaway": between 10am and 3pm there are sometime 600 (yes, six hundred) day trippers on the beach right in front of you. Also, the Racha does not have any sun loungers directly on the beach - and the few it has aren't enough for all guests to comfortably enjoy their holiday.
All in all, a very nice resort - I won't return however unless there is a "beach club" and the number of day trippers is down or limited. As it is now, their slogan with "where mind, soul and spirit can relax" is hardly achievable.

Relaxed at Racha
I really enjoyed staying at this 5 start resort. The Island is an excellent choice for those who want to escape for couple of days to an siland and at the same time do not want to go far away from Phuket. The service, cleanness and food quiality are just perfect. I think this is the best value-to-money 5 start Island resort.

Great setting, good value for money!One of...
Great setting, good value for money!One of my best vacation! Very quit! Very stylish! Can only recommend! Beach is small (many boats). Very good to relax for a few days. Did the trip to Phi Phi Island - a must!

Staying in the Racha is really a...
Staying in the Racha is really a unforgettable experience. The room is nice and clean, with adorable scent which you can choose. The pool is with wonderful view, and you can hear the music underwater! The hotel also offer scuba diving equipments, and you can do scuba diving just offshore from the hotel. A peaceful paradise contrast to Phuket island.

Beautiful location, beautiful accommodation and a beautiful way to enjoy a sunset cocktail. Be aware that the beach is not private as many day trippers arrive between 10am to 4pm every day. The buffet breakfast is good but could be better if all hot dishes were freshly cooked as is the case with other hotels of that price and standard.

It started that the room was not...
It started that the room was not ready at 12.30 while the resort was less then full (check-out to get the boat back to Phuket is at 9 and 10.30 so also plenty of room to clean) and they knew we arrived at that boat. Bad management of the staff. They told us 2pm?!? Looks great but service is not up to the price level. In 5 visits to the pool restaurant they managed once to bring exactly what we asked for. And no small fares like canned tuna instead of the seared fresh one is not an alternative for the same price. The wrong wine, the wrong pasta dish, again the canned tuna without mentioning it beforehand. The food in all restaurants is middle of the road. The diving masters are excellent! Next door is a simple little resort we try that next time. Better value for money and looks nice with wooden huts on stelts.

I stayed in "grand pool suite #103"...
I stayed in "grand pool suite #103" just below the "Light House." The staff were kind and had gentle smile all the time. The restaurants were great. Still, I was VERY disappointed with the view from my room. Although they tout that "all pool suites occupy the prime sites within the resort," the view from my room was probably one of the worst in the hotel because the huge roof top of "grand pool suite #102" completey ravaged the view and it was simply impossible to ignore it unless you were a zen master. It was nothing like the pictures in their web page(probably the pictures of #102 ?)Even there were less expensive villas with better view! The management should ask themselves "Would people really want to pay 32,000 BHT/night for a room when a huge roof top occupies most of their view?" I didn't ask for other options because my stay was only for 2 nights and I was by myself, but I really think I should have stayed in the Aleenta resort.And the next time, I will. The bottom line: Just make sure that you won't get #103 when making a reservation.

We came to The Racha for our...
We came to The Racha for our honeymoon and everything was like in a fairy tale. From the minute we met the staff until we left the hotel everything was perfect. The room was spacious and elegant, the 2 pools were gorgeous, the food expensive but great and the service was magnificent. The resort is amazing and we highly recommnded for couples who want to get away and be pampered.
