The Twinpalms is good. Really, really good. The service is excellent and the staff attentive. The food, though not the cheapest, is tasty and well presented. The rooms are also excellent and if, like me, you’re into free toothbrushes, sewing kits and cotton buds that come in tastefully designed boxes, you’re going to love it here. After having a look in the mini bar, opening every cupboard door and flopping about on the incredibly comfortable bed for a few minutes after you first arrive (you know you do), you can take a short stroll across the park to the Catch Bar. This place has all the good points of a beach club; Relaxed atmosphere, unobtrusive music and comfortable seating to lounge around in and none of the bad points, i.e., loads of pretentious people being annoying. Surin is definitely the best beach in the area, and it’s only a 20 minute cab ride from the airport. Basically, you can’t go wrong.
