Just 5 minutes walk from the nightlife...
Just 5 minutes walk from the nightlife of Bangla road, but stiil very quiet.
Not even 2 minutes walk from the beach, the hotel has a very friendly staff and a well kept garden around the swimming pool, at the back of the lobby and then very quiet and enjoyeable.
The picture on the site really show the truth about the hotel.
Room very clean and a balcony with chair on every room( even for the standard room i booked).
Breakfast was ok, but could have been a little more varied.
The restaurant is high quality for a mid-range price. No need to go on the crowdy and lower quality restaurant from main road, keep at the hotel for dinner.

After we changed our room to one on the ground floor everything was perfect, we paid a little extra but it was worth it.

My friend and I stayed in Salathai for three nights, and it was our first time in Phuket. I have never had that level of service in a hotel before. The staff did not care about us because it was their job. When we tried to tip one staff member for going way above and beyond the call of duty, she said, "No, we're friends." Wow. The room was clean and aptly supplied. The facilities were wonderful also. The only thing I can complain about was the airport/hotel shuttle transfer, only because I assumed it was a free service. I should have known that nothing in Phuket is free. I know that my friend and I will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Phuket and that we will definitely stay there again.
Large, clean room, and very nice staff....
Large, clean room, and very nice staff. Checked out at 12 noon, but was permitted to take a shower at 4PM after a day at the beach. Only complaint, air conditioner was pretty loud, and somewhat disturbed my sleep. Nevertheless, I would definitely come back to the Salathai hotel.

My girlfriend , Lynsey , and myself were recommended The Salathai by friends who live in Thailand and who stay regularly at the hotel when in Phuket on business.Our friends stayed for a week also.
We were not disappointed. We stayed for the first two weeks in January in a deluxe room.
The hotel has a feel of a family run business and the staff welcomed us morning , noon and night by name .
The rooms in this small hotel are comfortable , clean and big enough.
Ask for third floor if you can , these seem the best and you will probably get a sea view.
The hotels own restaurant is one of the best in town and both reasonably priced and well run.
The pool is big enough , in well kept gardens , and like the rest of the place , is kept clean regularly.
We notified the hotel then went off to Phi Phi for 5 days in the middle of our stay and on our return the reception staff treated us like long lost friends.

STAYED 8 NIGHTS IN DECEMBER 05. LOCATION & SERVICE WERE GOOD. SMALL HOTEL (ONLY AROUND 40 ROOMS). NICE POOL AND POOLSIDE AREA. FOR THE SINGLE GUYS I CAN CONFIRM THAT THE HOTEL IS GUEST FRIENDLY (NO CHARGE). RESTAURANT WAS GOOD AS WAS BREAKFAST. I HAD A GROUND FLOOR DELUXE ROOM WHICH WAS OK IN SIZE AND DECOR. GOOD SHOWER. ROOM SAFE IS JUST BIG ENOUGH TO TAKE A 15 INCH LAPTOP. ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE NOISE FROM ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION SITE WHICH WAS VERY NOTICEABLE BY THE POOL WHEN I WAS THERE. THEY CHARGED 1000 BAHT FOR A LATE CHECK OUT (6.00 PM) WHICH I THOUGHT WAS REASONABLE. I WOULD STAY AGAIN FOR SURE IF I KNEW THAT THE ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION HAD FINISHED ALTHOUGH THERE IS A LOT OF BUILDING WORK ALL ROUND PHUKET CURRENTLY.

My stay at Salathai was a very pleasant one. Whilst the facilities and rooms were not extremely luxurious, i felt that it was decently furnished and well located -- close enough to the heart of Patong and the beach, yet far enough for some peace and quiet when needed.
What made my stay most enjoyable was the warm service of the Salathai staff. They were very helpful and friendly, and took the initiative to go the extra mile for their guests.
I would definitely recommend Salathai to all who are looking for a mid-range hotel -- wonderful service, value for money, good location... i'm sure with Salathai, you will have enjoy your stay in Phuket.. just as i did!

We stayed at the Sala Thai in...
We stayed at the Sala Thai in a Deluxe room for 8 nights in June 2005. I could not fault this resort. Our room was on ground level with direct access to the pool. The service was exceptional and all the staff very friendly. The room and restaurant were spotlessly clean and there were many little touches not usual for a hotel in this price range. I highly recommend this resort and would definitely stay at the Sala Thai again if I return to Patong Beach.
