We stayed at Salathai for 14 nights...
We stayed at Salathai for 14 nights in July and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It is a small resort in a quiet, tropical garden setting, only a few minutes stroll to the beach. The position is great, shops, bars nearby and the huge Jungceylon shopping complex about 10 minutes walk away. The Resort is very clean and the staff most helpful and friendly. We had a superier room on level two which was adequate in size with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Linen and towels are changed daily when the rooms are serviced. The shower is inclined to flood the bathroom but a little ingenuity can minimise this. There is plenty of hot water though which is a big plus. In-room safe, pool towels, thongs and a calico beach bag are provided. Breakfast is included and eggs (cooked to your choice) with bacon plus juices, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal etc. is ample. The restaurant is very good and serves both lunches and dinner. The meals are reasonably priced and presentation excellent. Thai and Western food is available, and a pepper steak with idaho potato and salad bar will set you back 350 bht (about A$11). Salathai offers great value for money and will definately be our choice the next time we are in Phuket. Don & Annie Kerr.
