Day 1
When we arrived at the...
Day 1
When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by the receptionist. My boyfriend and I have travelled to Phuket twice before and Bangkok twice before and not once have we been met by such an unwarmly welcome from a hotel. When we got to our room, we found out we were given 2 single beds and I had requested 1 queen size bed. On our way back out to get our dinner, we stopped by the reception again and asked if we can get 1 queen size bed. Her response was "no more queen size." Then I pointed out that I had requested it on my form and she responded "ya, you requested but it is not given. Tomorrow we ask the housekeeper to push your 2 beds together." I was not satisfied but I left it at that. Her attitude speaks for itself.
Day 2
I realised the hotel was not even half full, not even close. So I wondered why she could not have just given us 1 queen bed but I did not question the receptionist further. I did however, request for 1 more pillow (which I think I am entitled to) and the receptionist (this time it was a different one) was not thrilled at my request and asked me to ask again tomorrow. I could not believe my ears. Here I was, merely asking for an extra pillow and I was simply told to ask again tomorrow. The receptionist then said "to get the pillow, I have to get it from another room for you..." I stood there at the reception with my boyfriend, both of us surprised and confused. Wasn't that his job? Since my boyfriend and I stood there confused, he got on his walkie talkie and asked one of the do-everything guy to get us a spare pillow from another room. Was that so difficult?
Day 4
Breakfast was basically the same on all our days there, except for some minor changes here and there. Breakfast area was clean but the view really sucks. There was bacon on all days there which was good. They have fried rice, potato pom poms, pancakes, french toast (which is not very good), and plain sausages. They also have an egg station. However, I ordered sunny side up and each time I was given a fried egg with the york all hard. I also ordered a scrambled egg and was given an omelete instead. But these are all very minor things..
Day 4, my boyfriend went diving today so I took the hotel's free shuttle bus to Patong beach. The bus left promptly at the scheduled time and took us to Patong. It stops and picks us up opposite Ocean Plaza. The shuttle bus is prompt so if you're not early you'll miss the pick up.
Day 5
On our last night here, my boyfriend and I stopped at the reception to ask if we could request for a late check-out for tomorrow. I explained to the receptionist that our flight leaves at 8pm tomorrow so if possible can we have a late check-out. His response was "Normally we cannot give late check-out..but you come again tomorrow and check, speak to my boss"
Day 6
So, after breakfast, my boyfriend and I went to ask again if it is possible for us to have a late check-out. We were told (by a different recept) that "this is peak-season. We are full now. Normally we cannot allow guests to have late check-out." I explained to her our situation, as my boyfriend needed to go down to the tailor for a final fitting at 1pm. I asked if we can check-out at 2pm, she responded with a No, and after some hesitation, she said we can have the room till 1pm, so that's only an hour extra.
By the way, it is so obvious that the hotel is not full, not even close.
Yesterday my boyfriend and I bought their pool towels to the beach to use, and in the morning we had wanted to go to the pool, but our towels from yesterday was already dirty from the beach so I rang the reception and asked for 2 more pool towels. She asked me WHY I needed the pool towels and hestitated in giving me the towels. I had to explain myself that we had used the towels yesterday and they were already dirty, thus we needed new towels. The hotel staff definately does not go out of their way to make their guests feel welcomed.
During my stay there, not one single staff from the hotel greet me in passing. Not one.
MISSING ITEMS!!!!
When my boyfriend and I got back to Singapore, he realised that his BRAND NEW dive watch was missing! The bag and instruction manual was there but the watch was gone! Then while unpacking, he also realised his Okley sunglasses was missing! The Okley case was there but his sunglasses was not! He immediately rang the hotel and reported his missing items and asked if the hotel can help him check. The recept's response was "there is already someone staying in your room. You ring back tomorrow and check again, speak to my manager."
So my boyfriend rang again in the morning and spoke to the manager. Now the hotel is staying NO ONE STAYED IN OUR ROOM since we left yesterday! The manager was hard to communicate with and told my boyfriend to write an email to the head office in Bangkok. My boyfriend has since filed a police report on his missing items and we are DEFINATELY never going back to this horrible hotel!
