From other comments, expected better than this. Overall was great but location really remote. Cost 350B to go to town to buy anything ONE WAY! Perfect for those one want to save money.
I stayed here for 6 days in...
I stayed here for 6 days in the first week of April. My room overlooked the sea and the pool. I could see the sea from my bed - what a beautiful sight to wake up to each day. The room was lovely - king size bed, separate lounge/small dining table and a kitchenette. Bathroom spacious, separate bath and roomy. They even provided bath crystals. I found that the water in the sea was so warm to swim in, you just need to watch our for the rocks when it is low tide. The hotel provided 6 bottles of water each day, they have two kayaks that guests can use and they have loungers set up on the beach for guests. They also have a computer connected to the internet that guests can use for free. Small and very quiet beach - it was beautiful. My room was in the main building at the top of the hill and each day I would walk down to the restaurant on the beach for breakfast and dinner. There are also a couple of small restaurants on the beach that serve cheap food and I ate at those a couple of nights- very basic food but you couldn't fault the scenery. The spa connected to the pool didn't seem to work very well- very low pressure. Because the hotel is so far out of town tour companies charge about 200 baht extra to pick you up from the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back and next time I will stay for longer.

Visited By The Sea Residence for four day get away with my girlfriend and did not want the hype of Patong and By The Sea was perfect. Great room with garden balcony overlooking the sea, kitchen and lounge facility with well thought out amenities. The staff were friendly and non-obtrusive. Good little restaurant beach-side. Nice non-crowded beach. Daily free shuttle into town but definitely not a hotel for those seeking nightlife and action.

we enjoyed our stay so much that after looking at other hotels, in the patong and other areas, we decided to extend our stay in this hotel.
the breakfast was very nice, with enough choice and very good service. the hotel is a little bit out of the way, but the free shuttle bus to phuket and to central, with all the shops and markets made up for this.
we had breakfast every morning in the dining room right next to the beach , overlooking the sea........

I chose this hotel for two reasons,...
I chose this hotel for two reasons, firstly because I did not want to be in a busy area (Patong Beach) secondly because it was monsoon season when the west coast beaches are not suitable for swimming because of the high waves and dangerous rips.
Although the hotel is on a slope so you have to walk up and down each day to the beach and restaurant, it is one of the few hotels on the island and especially in this price range with with the pool and restaurant actually on the beach, which is excellent.
The manager here it the key to it's brilliance, always with an eye to giving good service his attention to detail and ever watchful eye on service makes it a great stay, more like a home from home, with every comfort provided, all you have to do if you want something different is ask, it's probably possible.
The restaurant is very good not the cheapest meal you will get but the quality makes it worth the small difference in price to the small cafes in the area, & it's spotlessly clean, right through the hotel, people were actually coming from the Novotel next door to eat every day, they said the food was much better at the By the Sea.
There is a twice daily free bus into the town, this takes you to Robinson and the local fresh market, as all the rooms are have the option of self catering facilities that makes it possible to buy fresh food daily, great if you have kids.
I also used the spa at their other hotel on Karon Beach, with a free return trip and a discount price, very good and relaxing, had the Thai massage, the girl was very professional and the facilities were beautiful.
The pool is good if the beach is not perfect due to rocks at low tide it is very safe for children.

The accommodation & service was great. The food was good. The resort was kept meticulously clean & the staff were friendly, helpful & professional.
The only issue we had was obtaining transport to & from Patong Beach as the courtesy bus only ran twice daily to Phuket Town.
If you are after a quiet romantic holiday, this is the place for you.

Dieses Hotel ist ausschließlich für "Aussteiger" geeignet! Es ist relativ klein mit 36 Zimmern. Die Lage selbst ist direkt an einem für Phuket eher einsamen Strand, bei dem man allerdings bei Ebbe nicht schwimmen gehen kann. Das Hotel liegt in einem ca. 15-20 Minuten von Phuket Town entfernten, ziemlich entlegenen Gebiet. Es gibt auch keine Möglichkeit Abends etwas "pummeln" zu gegen. Man ist hier ziemlich für sich alleine. Für Leute, die also die absolute Ruhe suchen und sich stundenlang ans Meer legen können ist das Hotel bestens geeignet! Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und eine Küchenzeile ist auch vorhanden. Auch die Sauberkeit ist vorbildlich. Ein großer Nachteil ist, dass sich in der Nähe des Hotels (entgegen der Prospektbeschreibung)kein Supermarkt befindet!!! Man muss also jedesmal nach Phuket Town, um etwas Lebensmittel einkaufen zu können. Allerdings fährt zweimal täglich ein kostenloser Shuttlebus nach Phuket. Ein großer Nachteil ist bei der Abgelegenheit des Hotels, dass wenn man Abends mal nach Kata, Patong oder Karon Beach gehen möchte man auf das Hoteltaxi angewiesen ist und dies doch ziemlich teuer ist!!! Auch sind die Rückwege von den jeweiligen Gebieten ziemlich teuer, da die Taxifahrer nicht unbedingt in das "entlegene" Gebiet fahren möchten.....
Alles in allem möchte ich sagen, dass das Hotel an sich super schön ist, eine perfekte Strandnähe hat, aber für uns beide (junges Paar) doch etwas zu ruhig und zu weit weg vom Schuss gelegen war.
