The 1 bed cabana was perfect although the air conditioning could have been more powerful. Services were very expensive i.e laundry, spa and internet

My new husband and I stayed at the Centara Karon Beah Resort in a 1 bedroom pool Cabana and would definately recommend it to any honeymooner or couple looking for a great place to stay. It was only a 8minute drive from Patong Beach, 3 minute walk to Karon Beach which was beautiful and close to many many restaurants and shopping. It was quiet and peaceful away from the main tourist area of Patong, great if you want to be close to the action but not in it. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast was fantastic, everything you can imagine to eat. 3 pools to choose from - though reserve a chair early! It had a great Irish restaurant across the road that had great meals and at a good price. Would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.

I booked a Superior Terrace Oceanview Room and was pleasantly surprised as the room turned out better appointed that what I had expected. It was definitely worth it paying a bit more for an Oceanview Room. I got a corner room which had a full-length, one-piece-of-glass window in front of my bed showcasing the wonderful seaview. I could watch the sun set from the comfort of my room! Oh but the bed was a tad to firm for my liking. The armchair was extremely comfortable though. The room had a separate "room" which had shelves and cubby holes - this was the cupboard. This "cupboard room" had a full-length mirror and its own aircon vent! The bathroom was great too, and toiletries provided were very thoughtful - there was sunblock provided! Very few hotels are thoughtful enough to provide this. And bath salts too. This is one hotel where you don't have to bring any toiletries at all. Only gripe: the shower stall was not big enough to handle the strong spray of the showerhead, and coupled with the slighty-too-short shower curtain, the area outside the shower stall was always wet no matter how careful I tried to be. Overall, I had a great stay here!
We stayed from 2 Sept - 23...
We stayed from 2 Sept - 23 Sept and our stay got off to a poor start. The hotel forgot to send the prebooked transport to the airport and were very non plus about it. Eventually they offered a free return transfer. Our inital room had a major problem with the lighting and after 3 days all the hotel offered was a down grade. Following a discussion with the General manager we were moved to an apporpriate room and offered a free meal and show in the Lotus Resturant. Following this our stay was very pleasant. There are very few staff who have a good command of english and we found talking to the day manager at reception was the best option. We recommend the Delux Premium suites and the added benifits of free use of the internet and the provision of tea, coffee and snacks through out the day and happy hour in the evening that was included. Not all that was advertised as being included in the premuim delux package was available as staff did not appear to know what we were entitled too. Overall we had a relaxing holiday and that is what we wanted and needed.

The hotel was really good. we enjoyed it extremely, it was scenic enjoyed the swiming pool even after a whole day at the beach or anywhere out the whole family would enjoy a swim. the breakfast was good to. we would definetly choose centara again. the staff was also very sweet and welcoming. it was a peaceful place.
We arrived at 11:40 to check-in into...
We arrived at 11:40 to check-in into two rooms and was told to wait until 14:00 some lame excuse saying the rooms were not available yet although I have already requested for an early check-in through Asiaroom! I was not happy so I asked to see the Manager and complained about the situation and immediately got our rooms!
The shower was poor, it went from cold to lukewarm to boiling hot! The Service I agreed with Annie's (from NZ) comments you eventually give up your requests after repeating to yourself 3 or more times. I did not particularly find the staff to be polite. Annie I thought there were more Eastern Europeans who were more annoying with the sunbed occupancy!
I would not return to this hotel, there's too many hotels in Phuket to choose from.

We were there for 5 nights and...
We were there for 5 nights and found the hotel to be pretty good value for money. Yes, it's a 5 minute walk to the beach, but it's an easy walk and we did it every day. Breakfast was your standard 4 star sprawling buffet - but there was something for everyone.
The majority of the guests are German, so one word of advice - get your towel on your sun lounge early! I think the hotel actually needs to address this as chairs were reserved all day for people who only used them for an hour or 2.
The staff are friendly, though we did have to ask 3 times for more towels. Also before arriving I called to confirm our room type (we had a baby with us, so wanted a fairly big room) - this was all too hard and I gave up in the end.

The Central Karon Beach Resort is a very family friendly hotel with loads of activities for children including a kids club, an excellent swimming pool and activities for the grown ups. All staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Loads of shops/bars/eateries right outside the hotel. Although the hotel was a bit further from the beach than expected still within a 10 minute walk.

Not the best located hotel in the resort as many closer to the fantastic beach. The map on various websites is misleading. Hotel's only just opened but working very well considering.All the staff I met were truly great!
