Our stay was great.The breakfast was excellent especially the omellettes which were made fresh on request.
This hotel was lovely, very family friendly....
This hotel was lovely, very family friendly. The pool and facilities were fantastic. The location was very quiet, there was a walk to the shops and resturants. The hotel is on the top of a hill, and it provides a tuk tuk up the hill. We had a quiet relaxing time at Horizon.

The Service at the front desk is absolut poor, they dont know what service is.

Excellent service from the staff at Horizon Karon. Friendly and always eager to make your stay with them an even more pleasant one.
Rooms were in excellent condition except for a little problem with the television which seem to be unresponsive to the remote controller at times.
The facilities are in good condition. Great spa and lounge area.
The hotel is situated on a hill with a tuktuk to ferry us up and down. Karon sea is just 3mins walk away from the bottom of the hill.
Great place for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Patong but yet it maintains the serenity and beauty of Phuket.

Overall The Hotel is very new and has excellent facilities including 2 nice pools.
I stayed with my girlfriend and had a really nice room. There is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO PAY for a Sea view room tho, as we were in the top floor and could only see a tiny little bit of the ocean really far away.
Breakfast menu is good. I thought it would be great for families, but no so much for couples or those seeking a relaxed athmosphere.
Unfortunately I have to say service was just horrible, they swap things around to convenience from taxis to tours to room allocation, and Play with your money, time and your bookings (constantly).

This hotel was awesome and very clean although the shower really got everywhere in the bathroom , Air con was really cold and buffet breakfast great along with the staff , Pool was great with the bar at the poolside , Beds were extra extra hard although asked for a few extra dooners to put under me on the bed to soften things a little.
Tuk tuk service available to go down the hill to the beach and also availble to go back up the hill from the from at the bottom of the hill near the beach entrance.

We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. Out of the 3 nights we stayed there, we had no hot water for 2 nights. We booked a seafacing room but could not see any water at all from our balcony!
The service was pretty poor and slow. The staff were not very helpful and slow to respond with our requests. We would not recommend this hotel to those who aren't fit and especially the elderly because there are no lifts at all and you need to go up many flights of stairs to go everywhere!
Overall, we felt this hotel was overpriced and was not worth it's expensive price.

stayed for 2 nights in Dec 06.
hotel is on a hill, about 100m distance.
booked the hotel by mistake after reading the reviews on this page. (got mixed up with karon beach resort).
good:
-nice garden and landscapes.
-new and clean rooms.
-good location. near to restaurants and an extremely
nice beach. karon beach is way better than kata beach.
clean sand, small marine fishes, nice waves.
bad:
-staff don't speak english well though they attempt to be friendly.
-breakfast was horrible. oily food, stale bread (exposed to flies). my son had runny stool after drinking the juice.
-porters not honest. picked up 2 of my luggage on check out. left 3rd piece behind. dodgy and evasive when i asked him.
(i placed all 3 pieces together. won't miss!)
-shuttle service between hotel and foothill stops at 6pm. there's a phone at foot hill to request for pickup. one rainy evening at 6.30pm, i asked to be picked up. front desk answered blankly...no service af!ter 6! told her my situation. had a 1 year old and a 4 year old with me. no help appeared. when the rain stopped, we walked up the hill. drivers/porters were free and joking with one another. tuk tuk shuttles were parked outside.
- gardens smelled of sulphur on the first night. we wondered, did some guest discover a snake???
- the children's playroom was not good. there were only a few pieces of toys: 2 play house, 1 rocking horse, 1 push motorcycle and 1 push car (those that a toddler can climb in). the push car had biscuit crumbs in the back compartment (a full biscuit) and no one cleaned up! the staff was friendly but lacked initiative. i had to ask for a paper napkin to clean up the crumbs myself. the entrance to the playroom had ants trail. a few climbed up to my son's feet when he was taking off his sandles. a bite would have been nasty.
my previous experience was at dusit laguna, which had
excellent facilities for kids. fish feeding, video movies, kite flying, umbrella painting. the toys were plentiful and in good condition. the staff carried out the activities even if there was only one child.
horizon karon was NOT.
