Wonderful decor & ambiance. Delightful, gracious, friendly staff. Pool area is stunning. Great touch having own beach area. One needs to arrange their own transport - none provided by the resort. Very good restaurant.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, it is a hidden gem. The staff are so well trained and professional. As the hotel is small (25 rooms, 30 due to open for Xmas 06), the staff learn your name and are so helpful. The rooms and public areas e.g pool are exceptional. There are lots of little touches that make all the difference. Fresh lotus flowers are everywhere.
I would definately stay at this hotel again, it was fantastic in every way.

Staff were very friendly. Facilites were clean. Very close to the beach. The only thing is that I found the air-conditioner noisy.
A very attractive oasis on the quiet...
A very attractive oasis on the quiet Surin beach. With only 24 rooms around a patio and pool and approx. 200 meters to the beach this was a very pleasant place to spend a few days. The design is modern and relaxing, the staff well above average.
Furthermore, there are also three very good restaurants near by (The Oriental Spoon, The Silk and The Rockfish), in additon to the one in the hotel (Weaver).
The first day there was some noise from the renovation of the building next door, but this was finalized during our stay.
Shall be very happy to stay there again.

it was a little bit to noisy and the rooms were not realy cosy enough. i heard the traffic with windows closed.
the pool was dirty and the breakfast was not very good.

The Manathai Hotel is a wonderful boutique hotel on Surang Beach. The atmosphere grabs you as soon as you walk into the lobby. The openess of the decor,yet also its warmth and style, reflects the attitude of its staff. My stay here was with my girlfriend. I requested flowers to be brought to my room. The staff was very eager to help make the arrangements, and came through with such efficiency. They went through great efforts to accomodate me and make our stay a special one. I stayed in the basic superior room, which is a very quaint accomodation. The only drawback is its size. This room is not for the claustrophobic. Yet still it was very cozy. Perfect for the romantics who choose to be close to each other for a weekend. The bathroom, on the other hand, was very spacious and comfortable. There was sufficient room for two people to prep themselves at the same time. The restaurants are very attractive and the food was delicious. The location is perfect for those who do not want to deal with the hustle and bustle of Patang Beach. Surang Beach is a lot slower and geared more to those who wish to be alone. Manathai is roughly a 200 meter walk from the sands, and great food offered on the beach. In all, my bht 4000/night I paid was well spent. Would I stay there again? Definately! For those who want the quiet and cozy - a 4 Star Phuket experience at an affordable price, I strongly suggest the Manathai.
