Not too good!
I found the staff mosty friendly except for a few,no hot water for showers was very poor..7am-9am, and 7pm-9pm was unrealistic..and still only cold water!..Not being allowed to bring your own purchased drinks, snacks etc into the hotel (room and pool included!) was not a good thing. Also the pool closed at 6pm..Never again..Jeff Ladgrove
Rattana Beach Hotel, Phuket
The hotel is well placed only a few minutes walk from Karon Beach. It is surrounded by restaurants, bars, tailor shops, mini-marts, souvinear shops and travel agencies. However being in a realtively quiet side street there is little noise at night. The room was of good size, clean and well serviced. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel restaurant was one of the better restaurants in the area, serving good food.
Good location and not bad value for money
Management was rather rude on arrival, demanding the voucher, rather than a traditional hello or welcome. Other staff were lovely though and helpful.
Room was ok, stayed on the 2nd floor. Our room was near to the stairwell so noise tended to carry. Main problem in this hotel is that the doors make a rather loud bang every time you go in and out of the room so this can be really annoying when trying to sleep as other guests do not close the door quietly or keep their voices down so noise carries like mad here and can keep you awake.
Surprising thing is that although our room was facing the street you could not actually hear any noise from it, only that from the corridors. Bathroom shower was brilliant, excellent water pressure and hot water. Bed was comfy and air con not too noisy.
Breakfast was lovely, good choice of food and staff really friendly and helpful.
Good location, walking distance to beach and restaurants, bars, tour operators, taxis etc. Hotel has a lovely little pool although there did not seem to be any poolside service when we stayed there.
Enjoyed our stay and found it to be ok once you got used to the doors banging. Would recommend staying here for a few nights, just take your ear plugs!

We found the service to help in any way and the feeling they were so happy to do whatever it took to make our stay great was what made rattana agreat place to stay. The location was fabulous as the children felt safe to chat to the locals , massage , supermarket , beach etc also close by. Although it lacked some of the facilities that other big resorts have , it certainly made up for in so many other ways.Thankyou rattana for helping to make our holiday a great one.
