Below what was expected of a five star hotel
We checked into our room 1522, Deluxe room at lake side wing. Room was not properly cleaned. The binds were so dusty, room had a very very strong stale and mouldy smell, to our horror, bedsheets had bloodstains. Called housekeeping to settle these issues but the room was still smelly. We endured the smell for one night but it was really unbearable. Early next morning, we insisted for a room change. First we were told that the hotel was running a full occupancy. After much insistance, the lady at the reception was then willing to change our room. The new room 1610 smelled fresher and was much cleaner.
The experience at The Millennium Resort was generally a good one. The service staff were polite and friendly, location was very good and nice swimming pool. Despte the episode of room 1522, our new room 1610 was nice and comfortable.
However we feel that it seems that the hotel has over rated themselves as a five star hotel.
First of all, when we request for a room change, we were not expecting a room upgrade, just changing to a cleaner room but they seemed so reluctant! They had insisted that they were running full house and expected us to understanding and continue to stay in the horrible room. I am suggesting that the front office manager should go and stay to the room to see how bad the smell is....
Secondly, the breakfast was nothing to shout about, the spread was simple and has not much choices.
I will not go back to this hotel anymore as there are much better choices to look at in Patong.
