Metadee Stay - Secret Paradise
Metadee is a small resort set back from the main Kata Beach Road. Reception area was a bit cramped, which was not a good welcome. However, after that, everything was great! We booked a pool access room, but were upgraded to a pool access villa. What a treat! Driven to our room on a liitle golf cart, the staff member proudly showed us the villa, with king six bed, walk through robe, huge bathroom and separate outside wet area including shower. Our own private deck, pool access and spa seat in the pool. The pool by the villas is long and narrow, meandering through palm trees to the larger main pool and sun deck. Great for relaxing - swim to the bar for a drink, then back to the villa.
Metadee is a short walk to the shops, but longer to the beach because Club Med is in the way. However, the resort offers an hourly courtesy bus to the beach, with taxis at reception to take us elsewhere (though they are more expensive than street taxis, especially the airport transfer). Walking down the street is still fine, hot during the day but perfect in the evening.
Room rates are higher than elsewhere, but it is a five star resort not four star so worth it for a short stay. Very friendly atmosphere with very helpful staff. Buffet breakfast has a good variety, but not as extensive as the big resorts. Lunch and dinner meals at the resort, and drinks, were more expensive than the street restaurants (common to all resorts), but were of very good quality. We'd happily go back again.

Great Place to Stay
Just back from a great stay at the Metadee Resort with the family. Very happy to have been upgraded to a beautiful pool villa and our two daughters and partners were upgraded to access pool rooms which they loved too. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times and service was excellent. The beautiful lagoon pool was never busy though the hotel was full at times. Good location for shops and restaurants if you use the hotel buggy to/from the end of the road. Beach about 10 mins walk and hotel shuttle from hotel is every hour, but the pool was so nice we made the most of that. I agree with some comments that some areas may need a bit of a paint-up but everywhere was very clean and our pool villa was just great and the bed so comfortable. Thank you Metadee, we will all be back.
Paradise
When we arrived we got upgraded to a pool access room, and thought it was stunning...the pool was probably the best I have ever swam in. We were lucky enough to spend Valentines night there, the staff worked so hard to decorate the pool area and gave us a very memorable evening. The staff were very friendly, the food was lovely....on the whole a superb stay, will go back next year for sure!!!!
Metadee Resort Kata Phuket
We stayed at Metadee Resort September 2011 as a young Family with two Boys aged 10 and 13. We found the accomodation to be exactly as shown on web listings which was a pleasant surprise to get what you see in the photos of their rooms. We booked two rooms so our Boys shared the next room, we were in "Pool View" rooms (1st Floor) and although they do not have adjoining rooms, we did get two which had adjoining balconies so we were never too far away from each other. The staff were fantastic and always there to help out and provide excellent service. Metadee is in a good location between Kata Beach and Karon Beach with easy walking distance to either side with plenty of shopping spots to indulge or avoid and also plenty of eateries to choose from. It is an easy Cab or Tuk Tuk ride to Patong or Phuket Town for between AU$12-$15 each way. Metadee is in a very quiet location and although it has a very long driveway to walk down to or from the street frontage, they do offer a drop off and pick in their Golf buggies if you a feeling a tired or lazy.
All in all Metadee was a great place to stay for families or couples, highly recommended.

Nice hotel at Kata Beach
The hotel have a very nice & cozy room . The pool is huge and is very convenient for the guests to access to the pool. The breakfast is great . They have a great singer in the evening and we are enjoying ourself at the poolside with drinks and listen to the songs..is really relaxing. Overall, we are very enjoying our stay in Metadee Resort and will definitely come back again if we have the budget..
Located about 15mins walk to the beach. The signage was hard to find on the main road, as they were covered by other signs and bushes. Great pool access from the room, free wifi, the breakfast were decent and you can have late check-outs. They dont have any business center, the gym doesnt have a tv and there are heaps of mosquitoes at the restaurant at night. They have heaps of local food just outside of the hotel on the main streets at night.
First time and happy
We arrived on Phuket from Shanghai, China on the midnight of 22nd of Febryary. We should be guided to the Metadee resort on Kata beach by their hotel car as planned and prepaid but that didnt happen. Instead, we found someone from the hotel on the airport, but waiting for another client. This man meet us with a taxi driver who took us on the hotel. When arrived , they apologised and promised to compensate us for the money we paid (substrac them from bill) and also move us to the private pool villa for our last three days , things that happened.
The rooms were very nice with the exception of two cockroaches that we found on mornings. The breakfast was the best one I had ever eaten and the service very friendly and calm, making you feel so secure. The hotel landscape architecture is really great, a unique comination of gardens and corridors and bangaloes blended in a nice way with the gigantic swimming pool.
The hotel is about 2 km from the beach but every half an hour there is a free bus from the door to the sea.
I would recommend this to everyone who wants a nice peaceful vacation and surely I ll be there on my next Phuket visit.

A wonderful resort
Mekadee Resort exceeded our expectations - actually better than the reviews in Trip Advisor. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best varieties we have experienced - we have traveled extensively around the world. We stayed in a pool access room and then moved to a pool view room - both good. The pool meandering past the bedrooms was picturesque and felt quite private. Happy hour at the bar was affordable, restaurant meals were good and also not too expensive. Beds large and very comfortable. Location is good - short walk to the beach, shops etc or a free 2 minute transfer from the foyer. Access to the hotel is down a long driveway - a walk past a few shops or a free buggy ride - from the road to your room if you want.
Our only complaint that the resort does need to address is the plague of mosquitoes outside the pool access rooms that swarmed inside if the door was left open for more than a few minutes - (not a problem on the 1st floor). Although they didn't seem to bite. Other guests bought "mosquito coils" to solve this problem! In similar resorts in other countries the garden areas have been sprayed regularly and this seems to eliminate mosquitos - I suggest that this should also be done at Metadee. Other than this the resort was lovely in every aspect.

Wonderful Metadee
Our stay was memorable from the first minute when we we advised our room was an upgrade from a pool view to an own pool villa! The pool view room looked great but the villa was superb - spacious, clean, comfortable - what a bonus! Restaurant, bar and security staff all permanently smiling, polite and courteous. Breakfasts wonderful. Only used restaurant once but that was great too. Would recommend it to anybody.

Magnificent. Almost new. Spotless. Truly 5-stars. The best was a swimming pool and the view from the room. In quiet location, away from the main street. Staff - very helpful - especially two girls at the reception (Ao and June) who could speak English pretty well. Very good pool bar with interesting drinks. A few minutes walk to the beach. Good service 24/7.
