Nice place to stay, relaxed atmosphere, good value. Good food, Western/Thai ownersip. Very friendly.

Yes, it is out of town a little bit, but this suited us fine. Hire a motor bike if you don't want a 15min walk to the beach.
Yes, pool is not Olympic size, but I was not training for the Olympics. Good place for an afternoon dip after being at the beach.

My friend and I booked the Baan Suay hotel for 11 nights from the end of january 2012. This guest house is situated between karon and kata, its a 3/4 minute drive away from all the bars and restaurants so it is quieter, allthough it is on a main road but away from all the noise you get in kata! The hotel staff where very helpfull and polite especially the owner who arranged car hire for us at a decent price. found it much better having transport as we where able to travel all around phuket.The Baan Suay is a nice little place, but our room had no balcony, some rooms did but we where unlucky! The air con was a bit noisy of a night and got too cold.But for what we paid you cant really complain.
I would recommend this hotel to others ,although I would rather stay somewhere a bit more central next time.But overall a nice stay.

Value for money
This hotel has many things,internet,restaurant,pool,safe in room & best of all always clean. The 1 down fall is that is is not close to the beach...well it not walking distance...you must take tuk tuk
great little hotel
This hotel was good value for money. Cheap clean and even thought it's about a 20 minute walk to the beach being right in the middle of the inland road its a nice place to stay. The staff are helpful. The pool is small but nice. It's not crowded (well in nov 2011 it wasn't) and a short walk down the road leads to lots of restaurants and bars, more than are on the front actually.
Friendly stay
This accommodation was close enough to Karon beach to take advantage of all the facilities but far enough away not to be disturbed by noisy people or late night music. We did have to change rooms after our first night due to a problem with the A/C but this was no problem to the staff.
The hotel is run by a young Englishman Daniel and his Thai wife Supporn and what's nice about the hotel is its friendly family feeling.
If you need any assistance with hiring or organising something they are only too pleased to help.
This is a 3 star hotel and value for money was very good and we would definitely use it again and recommend it to friends.

Fantastic Hotel
Baan Suay is managed by very genuine friendly people and is what makes the stay here so enjoyable.
We had booked for 1 night originally but are now currently on our 4th night and are planning to extend our stay further.
The Restaurant serves fantastic food, the lobby area is so relaxed with sofas to kick back and good music playing.
The owners Daniel and Suporn recommended us places to visit and gave us loads of information on the local area, this really helped us when planning our trips and nights out.

Great Family Run Hotel
This hotel is a genuinely run family hotel. Owned by an English guy and his Thai wife they understood customer service, and in a relaxed and friendly way delivered it with the charm and grace often missing in Asia.
They upgraded us to adjoining bedrooms when they saw that our children were 8 & 11, as we had originally booked the family triple room. They arranged motorbikes for us to explore the local area at a very reasonable hire cost.
The hotel itself is just out of the convenient area for the beach and is a 20minute stroll to the beach through the small village of Karon. They have their own pool and restaurant. Their food was superb and hand-cooked by the business owner herself. Our room was kept very clean and we always felt our belongings were safe.
Karon is a one horse town of types and being mobile is a must really. Kata Beach and even Patong though were in easy reach with the motorbikes.
The only frustrating thing about Thailand is the cost of taxis which we felt were disproportionately high compared to everything else and Asia in general. The bike was 200BHT per day and would take you all over the island in no time - a Tuk-Tuk was a minimum of 300BHT for the shortest journey and usually 700BHT for anything over 15km.
This was no reflection on the hotel though except that if you wanted to explore from there, these things needed to be taken into the general cost of staying there.
Plan on 150-200BHT per person for breakfast if not included in your rate.
Lovely Place to Stay
Our stay at Baan Suay was easily the highlight of our Thailand trip. The rooms were beautiful and quite large and the pool was gorgeous. The staff at Baan Suay were alway very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. There was free internet in the lobby, as well as free wifi in the room and free use of the pool table. The Baan Suay restaurant was also very tasty and resonably priced.
We really enjoyed our stay at Baan Suay.
It was not a great experience at all. I had a few questions about karon and it's surroundings and no one could answer my questions. I had to walk up the road to a travel person and they had to help me.all but 1 staff member said hello and they were rude. It also said close to beach which it isn't in the heat of the day. The pool is very small but at least it's water. Would not stay there again. I moved places to golden sand cheaper and included breakfast and staff could not to enough for you
