My best ever stay in Patong Beach
Sansabai Hotel exceeded my expectations by far. This was my 2nd visit but 1st stay in this hotel. From our arrival until check out we just experienced the highest quality of customer support. All staff, from front desk to pool boy carried us on their hands. We had so much fun. The room was cleaned properly every day, fresh linen and towels. Aircon was excellent. I cannot find anything at this hotel to complain about. Check in says at 14h00. We arrived at 11h00 and our room was ready. No waiting or problems. So close to everything: the big Jungceylon mall is around the corner so is the night life. The rooms were soundproof and we never heard any noise in the evenings. I was sceptical to book here at first after reading some previous reviews but I can honestly say my experience of this hotel is nothing but 5 star treatment. Those whom complained about this hotel are obviously people expecting 5 star hotel treatment but not willing to pay for it. Friends of ours stayed at a higher graded hotel over the same period and for the price they paid for what they got, Sansabai Hotel really gave them competition! I fully recommend this hotel. If you are looking for spa pampering etc be prepared to pay the exorbitant prices and stop complaining about this hotel. San Sabai Hotel will definitely see me again. Excellent customer care, brilliant staff, crystal clear pools (2 rooftop pools) good breakfast proper daily cleaning of room. Don't take my word, go and experience it yourself. Change your attitude and treat the staff with respect and you will get double back! After all you are a visitor - you do not own the place . . . . . . . . You get much more for what you pay for.

San Sabai Hotel - Phuket (Patong)
Visiting a foreign country with difficulty understanding the people is always a huge challenge. With the personnel at the San Sabai Hotel in Patong we had a total different experience. The hotel personnel was friendly, helpfull and with a limited vocaboulary to english we could understand each other clearly. I really can not understand the negative reviews from previous visitors to this hotel and I would like to give the Manager and the personnel of the San Sabai Hotel a thumbs up. I will defnitely make use of this hotel in the future and will recommend it to all my frineds and family.

Location and pool are the standout features
We had two rooms for our adult sons and ourselves and stayed for 10 nights. The pool area on the 8th floor is fantastic, a quiet place to relax with great views across the surrounding hills and to the ocean. The breakfasts were varied and tasty and the omelets (freshly made to order) were excellent. The reviews we have read regarding the amount of time taken to check in have been taken into account as we had no problems. Check-in and check-out were both very efficient. The hotel charges 500 Baht deposit for the room swipe key, but it is refunded on check out. The location has its ups and downs. It is brilliantly located for all the bars and nightclubs in the area, but this also means that there is noise from music until quite late in the foyer and rooms facing the road...not a problem if you intend to stay out of the hotel until the wee hours. We had a room facing towards the back of the hotel and noise wasn't a problem. Our balcony faced towards another complex only a couple of metres away so there was no view. However, in my opinion this was a plus as it helped to muffle any noise from surrounding area, and kept the room quite cool all day even with the air conditioner off, as the room was in shade. A short stroll to lots of market areas, Bangla Rd and Jungceylon which is fantastic if the weather is inclement. The restaurant on the road at the back of the resort - Hemingways- has fabulous food and frozen non-alcoholic pina coladas to die for. Would stay again without any hesitation.

Arrived to a lobby of 3 very unhappy looking customers. Found out why a little bit later, as it took the 3 people manning the front desk 3 hours to check my 5 friends and me (6 rooms altogether)
Got a room on the older wing. Fairly large, with the WC and shower separated - however, felt like an exhibitionist every time i stepped into these "cubicles" as i suspect that they were converted from a balcony. (Biggest hint? Them full sized windows).
Though to be fair, they were frosted.
Another complain is that the air conditioning has being set at a minimum temp of 26C (more of a energy conservation exercise). Not good, when coming into the room after a day being fried by the tropical sun. If you have sinus issues, it will probably leave you breathless - resulting from the stuffiness and the "warm" air circulating in the room. Slept (not very well) on both nights without the duvet.
