The localion is very difficult if you don't have transport, you have to be pretty fit, as you have to walk a long way the main road, and then there is at best, a sporadic and sparse public transport system. Getting to the ferry to Koh Samet (50 baht each way)is tedious, and also note you have to pay 400.baht to get through the National Park to the beach and Hotels.
The staff were friendly, and the hotel was ok for the price. Even though the beach is cleaned every morning, it is full of litter every afternoon, and we got oil on our feet walking along the beach.
We are Australians working in Bangkok and we had our own transport, so we could get around easily. Although having said some negative stuff, we had a good time, the pool was wonderful and we had a peaceful, relaxing, enjoyable time benefitting from the fresh sea air.
