Second Stay at this resort, and I...
Second Stay at this resort, and I still LOVE it. The location is perfect to "get away" from Bangkok for the weekend, and the even the rain over the beach just made it a different sort of holiday, very romantic. STILL have to do something about breakfast buffet, very poor selection, and not a great deal of choice, thai or western. The dinner/room service menu has improved since last visit, and had a lovely dinner on the deck as the waves crashed onto the shoreline below....LOVELY.

Having just spend a wonderful Songran weekend...
Having just spend a wonderful Songran weekend in this hotel, I will definately be back. The staff are all wonderful, and happy to assist in anything you might need. The hotel food lets it down a little, and the seafood platter is NOT good value for money in this area. The breakfast whilst very good, did lack a little variety. The location is perfect, close to both the great seafood restaurants, about a 10 min drive, and also the good shopping, about 15 minutes the other way. The beach is very nice, and makes for a great walk.

The staff where most helpful, the only...
The staff where most helpful, the only person to let the side down, was the manageress who was most abrupt in her manor. The food standard could be improved. I was more than displeased to have to carry my own suitcases from my car into reception.

We have stayed at this hotel 2...
We have stayed at this hotel 2 times now and are going back in December 2007. We love the location and the staff, not to mention that the beach is very long and there are hardly any people on the beach. The hotel is located far from any shopping and the nearest town is Ban Phe but if you use the local pick-up transports it's easy and cheap to get into Ban Phe (20 baht) from hotel to Ban Phe. The leave every 20 mins or so from the main road off the hotel, just go up to the road and wait for one to drive by. All in all, it's one of the best hotels/locations we have stayed at in Thailand, and it's also dirt cheap to go to Bangkok if you take the bus from Ban Phe. 3 hours drive in a lux. bus with A.C. So why not take a day or 2 in Bangkok and do your shopping there. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Just had a wonderful 2 week stay...
Just had a wonderful 2 week stay at this hotel where my wife and me enjoyed this isolated spot on the Thailand east coast. Hotel is very appealing and the service from the staff is outstanding. Adequate size rooms (some with a balcony), always clean and tidy and smiling people all around you. The hotel is quite isolated which means that you will have to enjoy tranquility and be ready to travel far to get to other restaurants, shopping etc. Actually all i regret is that i didnt choose a day or two in Pattaya or Bangkok to get my shopping done. There is virtually nothing to buy within 100 kilometers. The services of the hotel, is rather expensive which is a pity. They are taking a bit advantage of the fact that there is no apparent option for you. i.e. a 200 baht massage at the beaches of Pattaya costs more than 1000 baht at the hotel. The hotel is nicely located right on the beach and the restaurant offers both Thai and international meals.

Palmeraie Beach Hotel is a very nice...
Palmeraie Beach Hotel is a very nice place to stay. But better to have a car around, since its about 15km from the next city. I only can recommend this place, the personal is very friendly, the pool is big, the sea is nice. Its a peaceful place and very relaxing.

Very similar in layout to the more expensive Novotel nearby. Bigger and nicer rooms than Novotel and a much nicer, quieter beach. If you want to chill out for a few days then Palmeraie is a good place to do it; there's really nothing else but quiet days by the pool or beach. Cafe is adequate, but a few more options would be good; apart from the ubiquitous Burger and fish and chips, the menu was Thai. At breakfast a more healthy cereal would have been appreciated.....mueseli please! Mostly Scandanavian guests here and a more mature crowd. If you want peace and quiet and don't mind walking 1 km to the nearest shop to buy drinks etc, then this hotel should be considered. 3hrs from Bangkok, you could be on an island really, such is its tranquility. Very good value for money.
