I have two complaints which I mentioned...
I have two complaints which I mentioned in the "satisfaction survey form" left in each room: I find unusual and frankly outrageous to be asked to pay 100 baht per person to use what is pompously called an exercise room: there were only 3-4 devices there when I checked it out. I wonder why they have to have grass cut on Sundays when the resort is full of people who might prefer to enjoy the premises without being bothered by the noise and the pollution caused by the grass-cutting tractor. Why not doing this during the week? As often in Thailand, the convenience of the management takes precedence over the guests'comfort.

Before flying THAILAND I sent a mail...
Before flying THAILAND I sent a mail (may) to the hotel (then a letter) asking a question about a "promotion" they displayed on the Web hotel site. I did not got any answer from the hotel. Despite this fact, I booked one month later with Asia Room and we stayed with friends(2 deluxe room) 4 nights from july 27 to july 31. Hotel is miles away from anything and without a car you are "trapped". Beach is ugly (this is not the fault of the hotel) with rocks. My friends (as nights were windy) had to change of room because of wind coming in the room in a noisy way through the bay window. The second room was not better and staff had to come to put some rubson between parts of bay window. Bathrooms are old and water was of some yellow color one morning. I noticed moisture on wall between bedroom and bathroom. In bedroom there was old paperbook and timetable of years 2004 and 2005 ... In bathroom you heard everything from people in adjacent bathroom or bedroom (crying babies for example). The first 3 morning they was a buffet for breakfast (below average) but last morning they was no buffet at all and you have to ask for eggs to staff. Everything is quoted in high price and this hotel is just an old 3 stars hotel which needs complete refurbishing and improvment. We met other friends who stayed in NOVOTEL CORALIA RAYONG : they paid less for a much nicer hotel with a sandy beach and I was angry about myself to have booked in RAYONG RESORT. The only thing was that hotel was almost desert during 2 days and we got swimming pools for ourselves (3 people). I used to stay in some 5 stars hotels such as SHANGRI LA (BANGKOK) and in 2 stars resort as SMILE HOUSE (SAMUI)and I enjoyed my stay in this very different kind of hotels. But I do not appreciate to pay a rather high price for such poor quality as in RAYONG RESORT. I took pictures of all noticed items about RAYONG RESORT ... I shall not stay again.

The beach is extremely dirty with waste...
The beach is extremely dirty with waste from Koh Samet. We had a deluxe room. I would expect to see some picture on the walls of the room, but there were only painted walls. There was no buffet for breakfast. At the list price, I would expect a deluxe breakfast. We had a Thai soup and fruit, which were delicious. And the day we were there was a day for maintenance of the fresh water system, resulting in water so dirty that we did not want to shower. On the plus side, the location is isolated and beautiful. The pool is excellent. And service in general is good. A few years ago we stayed at the hotel, when the beach was much cleaner. Now we think we won't return again.

Awesome landscape !!! When you are seeing...
Awesome landscape !!! When you are seeing the hotel from the hill, it looks so amazing. A wonderful place to relax with a beautiful beach, huge swimming pool. You can try the spa, the tennis court, pool table and you can take a boat directly to Koh Samet. The restaurant is delicious ! This apart, nothing much to do there. I stayed in a Junior Suite but there were no separation between the living room and the bedroom. The bathroom was big but not so clean. The hotel is really isolated from the city on another side of the hill. In my opinion, I could stay there 1 week but after I will be bored.

What a great place. Would recommend this...
What a great place. Would recommend this hotel very highly. The staff are excellent , as is the hotel itself. We have been to Rayong 5 times now and enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time we visited. We have stayed in their Superior, Jnr Suite and Junior Beach Suite rooms. All were good and the only thing that makes them different is the size + Tea/Coffee making facilities in the jnr suites. I was a little disappointed with the balcony on the Jnr Suite, it was tiny! Pool is great and there is no fear of having to fight over sun loungers. The hotel ( in our experience) is used mainly as a convention centre by the locals. For anyone who don’t know the Thai's, they spend a fortune on cosmetics to lighten the colour of their skin, so sunbathing is not their cup of tea. We have often sat around the pool all on our own ( just the 2 of us) and have had to buy a drink just so that the poor soul that has to man the pool bar for 8 hours each day feels like they have a purpose in life!

What a wonderful place! Have stayed at...
What a wonderful place! Have stayed at the Rayong Resort 5 times now. Staff are absolutely great, food is good although a little pricey. Have stayed in Superior rooms, Jnr Beach Suites and the Jnr Suites. Superior rooms and jnr Beach were good. I was a little disappointed with the Jnr Suite. Although it was big enough to hold a ball in, the balcony was very small in comparison to the other rooms we have stayed in ( probably about 2x2 metres) The hotel is not popular with Western tourists but appears to be used more as a convention centre by the "locals". Have often been by the beautiful pool on our own and had the pick of around 30 sun loungers. Two beaches, one is not suitable for swimming though as the beach is very rocky. The other is great. Only draw back is that it is remote and you could be on site for the duration of your stay, which can make it a bit expensive. However if you work on the staff that shouldn't be a problem. We got a lift to the local Makro one year so that we could buy our own beer to drink at a fraction of the hotel price. We were even told they were happy for us to drink it in the bar area!!!!   On the occasions we have been we have always been offered a free sunset cruise around Koh Samet on the hotels own boat. Cannot comment as to how nice it was as in 5 years we've been it never sailed at sunset( the sea was too choppy!)
