Our stay at Tharaburi resort was simply fantastic ! I think this is the best hotel in Old Sokuthai and I would really recommend everyone to book this hotel rather than staying in New Sukothai. The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Food is nice and cheap. I'd definitely come here again.

Excellent location next to Sukhotahi Historical Park, but 12 km far away from New Sukhothai, renting a motorcycle is highly recommended. Restaurant and breakfast room are not suitable for a boutique hotel. But overall nice place and atmosphere.

The grand deluxe room was very beautiful as well as the bathroom. The only place for improvement is I would say the restaurant. It does not match the standard of the hotel, the decoration is poor and the menu very limited. The price is high as the hotel though! However our two nights stay in this resort were very great for our honeymoon.

A good place to stay if you...
A good place to stay if you wish to visit the sites of old Sukhothai. The hotel is within walking distance of the park. The style of hotel is great and the restuarant food was lovely. The pool looked a bit murky so we decided against a swim. Also there was a light on the corridor outside our door which shone through a window above the door and made the room very bright at night.

This hotel is great. We stayed...
This hotel is great. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room which is a bit pricey, but worth it. The room is beautiful and the extras such as the jacuzzi tub, dvd player, and rainwater showerhead were worth it for me. The hotel staff were extremely nice and eager to please. The location was ideal. It is not in the new city (but there is probably not much there that is worthwhile - a small night market compared to Bangkok or Chiang Mai), but in a nicely remote area only 1 km from the temples. You feel like you are in the middle of no where, but a 5 minute walk (or 1 minute bike ride) gets you to local restaurants, a 7-11, souvenier buying, or places for massage. They have bicycles for rent (less than $2) for the day so that you could ride around the old city and check out all of the old temples which is he best way to see them in my opinion. The restaurant was well priced (between $3 and $6 US for each dish) and the food was as good as I have had anywhere in Thailand - and I usually choose not to eat at hotel restaurants. The general feel of the hotel was very authentic, with the lobby and restaurant being "outside" - no walls except for your room. There was a computer in the lobby that they let me use free of charge, but there were also a couple of computers in the restaurant where internet was available for a small amount as well.

Location is great for exploring "old" Sukothai...
Location is great for exploring "old" Sukothai (as it is very close to the ruins), and the hotel is probably the best in the area but....it's a rather simple, and not really charming hotel, with rather poor food, and rather ugly bedrooms, dining/breakfast room, etc. It does have though a nice and very enjoyable swimming pool. Definitely not a boutique hotel....but probably the only decent place to stay in the area.

We went to the Tharaburi Resort in...
We went to the Tharaburi Resort in mid February and had a perfect stay in a deluxe room. We came to Sukhothai by bus from Pitsanulok and could explain to the guy checking the tickets on the bus that we would like to be dropped at the old city which is much closer to the Tharaburi than the regular stop at the bus station in the new city. Asiarooms provided us with an address written in Thai to show the Tuktuk driver, fortunately the name of the Tharaburi Resort was correct and the driver brought us there but otherwise it was the address of their accounting office in the new city – so be careful. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly lady at the reception, who has very good English language skills. The room was very clean and simply fabulous (it was exactly like the one shown on their homepage), we loved every detail of the interior design from the little ‘couch table’ with the sitting mats, the bed, the pictures on the wall and my absolute favorite: the rain shower with an outdoor feeling even though its adjacent to the bathroom. The restaurant was also very good with exactly the food we were looking for to try while being in Thailand at a good price. If you like fish you have to try their snakehead fish – it’s simply fabulous. The lady at the reception was also very helpful organizing bicycles for us (50 Baht per day) and had someone waiting for us with the tools to adjust the height of the saddle (I’m 191cm tall). We spent a wonderful day cruising with the bicycles through the ruins of old Sukhothai and it was very convenient that the resort was very close to the old city. The lady at the reception also organized the bus trip to Chiang Mai for us so we had a reservation, were brought to the bus terminal and knew exactly where to go and what to do without going through the hassle of being asked by so many ‘helpful’ people wanting to sell us their trip. Overall I can highly recommend the Tharaburi Resort when staying in Sukhothai and we will go there for sure when coming back.

Excellent value for money, excellent location, close to the national park. We had a shared bathroom, but very clean. Nice pool. Very friendly staff, though not all speak good English. If we where to go to Sukathia again we would stay in this hotel again.
