This hotel is great. We stayed...
This hotel is great. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room which is a bit pricey, but worth it. The room is beautiful and the extras such as the jacuzzi tub, dvd player, and rainwater showerhead were worth it for me.
The hotel staff were extremely nice and eager to please.
The location was ideal. It is not in the new city (but there is probably not much there that is worthwhile - a small night market compared to Bangkok or Chiang Mai), but in a nicely remote area only 1 km from the temples. You feel like you are in the middle of no where, but a 5 minute walk (or 1 minute bike ride) gets you to local restaurants, a 7-11, souvenier buying, or places for massage.
They have bicycles for rent (less than $2) for the day so that you could ride around the old city and check out all of the old temples which is he best way to see them in my opinion.
The restaurant was well priced (between $3 and $6 US for each dish) and the food was as good as I have had anywhere in Thailand - and I usually choose not to eat at hotel restaurants.
The general feel of the hotel was very authentic, with the lobby and restaurant being "outside" - no walls except for your room.
There was a computer in the lobby that they let me use free of charge, but there were also a couple of computers in the restaurant where internet was available for a small amount as well.
