The room reservation was for a king size bed for two people. The room I got was two standard beds. The hotel was full so could not change rooms for two nights. My friend was not happy with the sleeping arrangements. The beds were very hard, not a good nights sleep. The hair dryer in room did not work...... Rooms not very sound proof, could hear everything from next room. I have stayed at much better hotels, will not stay here again.
good but no internet, TV very old
the reception staff are low efficiency both check in and check out. the internet is very expensive. TV is old.
Great hotel would be much better if it had a bar with decent music and the setting was very cold and uninviting. service and rooms were excellent just lacked ambience on the ground floor.
An impressive but slightly jaded hotel that has a major adjoining development under construction.
House staff extremely helpful but frontline perhaps need to lift their game a little. Restaurant staff somewhat inattentive. Overall good value and would certainly stay again.

I have stayed at several hotels in Udon Thani. I chose this hotel because it located near all other important amenities, ie shopping centre (which is next door).
The staff are very friendly. The major problem for me is the cleanliness of the room is very poor. I dont mind old and dated if they are clean.
The carpet is not just old and looked worn but looks dirty. Furthermore, I found a safety pin on the floor (in the middle of the floor) with the tip open.....that meant the housekeeper did not vacuum the floor and who knows since when. The amenity is the bathroom is nice.. with marble floor but the grout needs to be cleaned either with mildew cleaner or fill it with new grout.
There is free wifi in the lobby. I bought an prepadi wifi card to use in my room, but somehow it did not work up there (level 7) and i worked just fine when i brought it down to use in the lobby.
When I asked the staff at front desk to use the hotel computer (which has only two sitting in a corner of the lobby with lots of mosquitos flying around), she just pointed to the corner and did not help turning it on or logging in to the start page.. I tried and waited several minutes and gave up. I ended up using my macbook with a paid wifi card. I would only stay at this hotel for its location not anything else.
NIce place too stay
Stay before and it was nice to see the hotel has upgraded some of its rooms. Nice and central would certainly recommend to stay there.

Udon Thani is a small town. Lots of guest house in this city. in my opinion a bit overprice for this old hotel. Like internet... most guest house give a free wifi facilities. but here in this hotel, they charge a LOT for 'not so fast' internet. one bad experience was, i already booked a taxi to airport which cost only 150 baht. but the concierge cancelled my taxi and asked me to go by hotel shuttle which cost 400 baht for 2 persons. I asked why they cancel my taxi. they cant give any answer.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and tidy. Good location near shopping centre and markets. Will stay at this hotel again for sure.

To simplify my review I will pass on one episode: I walk into my room, glanced at the clothes ironing burn in the middle of the room, and walked over to the window,(floor 10), I placed my hands on the window sill and felt a familiar sensation. The sensation of rotted wood. I pulled back lightly with only my fingers and discover an army of termites happily running to and fro.
Oh, I cannot resist: the elevator door hit me hard 2 times while entering. Mitsubishi's safety rules outside the US are a little different. (Ow, my shoulder still hurts.)

The service is very friendly but not fully efficient. The rooms and especially the bathroom urgently need renovation. The decoration of the rooms and the technical equipment are poor. The breakfast variety has improved since my last stay in 2008. The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel is still the nr.1 in Udon Thani.
