Alice Springs City Council
The Alice Springs City Council is the centre for information about the present and changing needs of the community in the town. The centre has always provided the best in service through innovative ideas, strong leadership and good governance. The council is administered by the elected members forming the member of council. The elected council consists of Mayor and the ten Aldermen. The members are elected after an interval of every four years. The next election of the Alice Springs City Council is scheduled for 2008.For better governance the council holds regular meetings of the members which are held at the Council Chambers, Todd Street. These meetings are held on every last Monday's of the month from 7 pm onwards.
The public and the media are free to attend the meetings which show the transparency, but during some confidential gatherings the discussions are kept restricted. The agendas and the issues regarding the development of the town are discussed and the process of its implementation is taken care of.
