Location
The Cairns Rainforest Dome is located in the centre of the Cairns. It takes a few minutes to travel from the Cairns Esplanade region and the Reef Fleet Terminal. The place is also the central bus terminal and thus can be easily accessed.

What to see
See the colorful birds as they fly freely. Touch the lovely pademelons as they leisurely move within their enclosures. Observe the curlews, frogmouths and the kookaburras as they hide themselves. The other interesting things to see are the turtles, pythons, freshwater crocodiles, lizards and bettong.

You can also catch a glimpse of the Goliath which is a giant sized salt water crocodile. The creature has been kept in a unique glass tank that facilitates underwater viewing. Introduce the Zorro, the black cockatoo. Hug a lovely koala and as a memory treasure a photograph which you are allowed to.

Timings
The Rainforest Dome is open on all days from 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening. But it remains closed on 25th of December.

Entrance
You can enter the dome only through a lift that is present in the foyer of the Reef Hotel Casino.
Wheelchairs access and ramps are allowed within the precincts of the Cairns Wild life Dome.

There are a number of tours showing you the entire dome and its surroundings area that are conducted all throughout the day.
