Getting to Canberra by Train
Countrylink provides railway service to Canberra. It runs between Sidney to Canberra twice a day. The train arrives in Kingston station that is located on the south of Canberra. There is also daily train service from Melbourne to Canberra via Wodonga. The economy fare for the trip is $49.50. Countrylink also has its own buses running from the center of Canberra to the town of Cootamundra where travelers change trains to reach Melbourne's Southern Cross Train Station. This was previously known as the Spencer Street Station but it changed its name since 2003. Tickets cost $90 approximately. However, you are eligible for upto 50% discount on the train tickets if you make an advance booking online.The Countrylink also provides various enticing packages to the travelers.
