Bars & Pubs in Canberra
The capital of Australia, Canberra is the largest inland city of the country with a population of 325,000. As the capital of Australia, Canberra is home to the Parliament house, the high Court of Australia and numerous government departments and agencies. What the city is not famous for is its nightlife. Though the city boasts of its fair share of pubs bars and nightclubs, its nightlife is a distant cousin to that of Sydney or Melbourne.The main area for the nightlife in Canberra is Civic, although there are other nightclubs in locations such as Manuka. Other bars and clubs are in different locations around the city.
Canberra has numerous Irish pubs viz. PJ O'Reilly's, King O'Malley's and O'Neill's. PJ O'Reilly's is famous for its theme nights and St Patrick's day in PJ is supposed to be quite a party!
King O'Malley's is a nice place to go try out a pint Guinness. The bar also offers a wide range of imported and locally brewed beers in it stock.
The University of Canberra and the Australian National University also have bars which have bar nights and live music.
Canberra also has some rather nice lounge and cocktail bars. These include Trinity,
