Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens
Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Hobart is one of the most celebrated gardens of the city. The gardens were established in the year 1818.The botanical garden has about 13.5 hectare of land with about 6500 different species and varieties of plants many of which belong to the nineteenth century. The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens also has the biggest collection of public conifer in the entire southern hemisphere. It is the only sub-Antarctic plant house of the world.In Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Hobart you can find many gardens. One is the Cundall's veggie patch, a spectacular greenhouse and a Japanese garden. In this garden you can find more than 400 different plant species of Tasmania. The famous Tasmanian Tulip Festival is held in the garden.
The Arthur Wall located near the main gate of the garden, could be heated so that many exotic trees and plants could be grown. It also supports flowering creepers. You can find a traditional herb garden near the Arthur wall. A new and major attraction of the garden is the sub Antarctic plant house that features plants belonging to the Macquarie Island.
Opening timings: The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Garden remains open for the visitors on all seven days of a week.
The garden remains open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm in the month of April.
In the months between May to August the park remains open from 8.00 am to 5.00
pm.
In the month of September the park remains open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm
From October to March the park remains open from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm.
