This is the biggest festival that one can see in Launceston and is held every year in February and is an occasion to celebrate Tasmanian life and culture. The event is held at the City Park of Launceston and people indulge in a lot of fun and frolic and the activities include local cuisine, beer, and wine.
The atmosphere is electric with live music and entertainment by local and international talent.
Over seventy types of wine are on display and there is a wide variety of food on display also which allows you to satisfy your hunger. There are delicacies like the Bernie's Tasmanian Gourmet Burgers and if you want to have some non alcoholic stuff then you can try out stuff like the Cascade Burger. Some new additions to the festival include a band comprising of some of the best musicians from Melbourne. Then there is the tribute to Neil Diamond by Al James who comes closest to the original voice and music. Songs are sung for the bad boy of pop Robbie Williams also.
The Bogong moths are seen moving nervously with beautiful silk wings and soft furry bodies. Since these have been the staple diet for the aboriginal people for a long time these moths are a little flummoxed but you should not take advantage of them and have them for lunch as they are really large and colorful.
The festival believes in responsible service of alcohol and patrons can buys glasses inside the festival arena for a small price because glasses from outside are not permitted.

This festival is definitely a must for people visiting Launceston since it is the biggest festival that the city has to offer.
