About The Perth Mint

The Perth Mint is Australia's oldest functional mint. It has been driving Australia's monetary scene since June 20, 1899, whence it started functioning as an offshoot of the Royal Mint in London. The Perth Mint, Australia is also one of the oldest mints in the world.

It lodges Australia's largest collection of natural gold nuggets, the pride of the collection being the 369-ounce "Golden Beauty" which is one of the biggest in the world. Other exhibits include rare gold jewelry and gold crystals and the Sydney 2000 Olympics and Paralympics medals that are actually the products of the Perth Mint.
