Before the Europeans established their settlement, the area spanned by Sydney Olympic Park was inhabited by the Wann-gal clan.
Prior to its present day incarnation, Sydney Olympic Park was reeling under the ill effects of being used for both military and industrial purposes for over hundred years. The area bore more semblances to an industrial wasteland than a sprawling park.
After the conclusion of the 2000 Olympics, Sydney Olympic Park underwent further changes and looked to accommodate more facilities. The surrounding areas too felt the winds of change with a number of business establishments shifting here and an opening of a swanky five-star hotel in the vicinity of the Park.
