For getting to Chengdu by air, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is the only airport of Chengdu, located in the southwest of the city. From the center of Chengdu city the airport is situated away for about 20 kilometres (12 miles). The airport is complete with facilities. More than 70 domestic cities of Chengdu get an access to flights by the CTU. In addition to this it also provides with service to over 20 cities. Six international lines from Chengdu were opened in July 2005 including flights within the province. One of the greatest achievements is the opening up of the first cargo flight to Frankfurt of Germany from Chengdu. Chengdu gives access to Yunnan, Qinghai and Tibet so it can rightly be called as the transportation hub of Southwest China.

Other Informations:

At every 20 minutes interval a shuttle bus is available from airport for getting to Chengdu. It takes about 35 minutes to reach the destination and costs CNY 8-10. From Lantian Hotel Stop, at second section of Renmin South Road ie.,beside China Southwest Airlines ticket office, The first bus starts at 5.00. By Train

The trains can be the other option for getting to Chengdu. The trains from Chengdu Railway Station, the largest railway hub in southwest China, has trains to major cities of China.

By Road

The last option that is available to you for getting to Chengdu is by road. Sigtseeing within the city can be done by bus. CNY 1 is charged by common public buses while the air-conditioned ones charge CNY 2. As several buses do no have conductors you should always carry small changes. There are numerous main coach stations at Chengdu which are as follows:

For facilitating the tourists the buses have an arrangement of multimedia systems of mobile TV sets, tourist film players, isochronous broadcasters with four foreign languages of English, French, Korean and Japanese, etc.

Taxi

There are several new taxi stands on the streets for getting to Chengdu. The signs at the taxi stands are written both in Chinese and English. For the first 3 kilometers it charges CNY 5 and CNY 1.4 every succeeding kilometers from 6.00-22.00. Whereas for the first 3 kilometers, at night, from 22.00-6.00, a charge of CNY6 is taken. And CNY 1.7 is charged for every succeeding kilometers.

Pedicabs

Pedicabs are available within the First Ring Road, especially in the center of Chengdu. The charges are bargain able with the starting charge as CNY 5.

Rental Cars

Rental Cars is the other option for getting to Chengdu.
