Lushun or Port Arthur is one of the major historical spots of Dalian. Now the
place has been transformed into a military museum. Lushun right from Jin Dynasty
to Liao Dynasty was an area of strategic military importance. The area reflects
the tumultuous history of the city; in the year 1894 Lushun was taken under
siege by the Japanese and during the 1904 it was a major battlefield during
the Russo-Japanese war. Presently the place has been transformed into an open
museum reflecting the cultural and historical heritage of the city.
