Getting to Guangzhou by Train is an easy option for the tourist during their travel to this city. Interestingly enough, Jing-Guang (Beijing-Guangzhou) Railway Line is the lifeline of transportation service between the southern and northern part of China. It also links Beijing to Shenyang, Chengde, Baotou, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan; Shijiazhuang and Dezhou; Lianyungang and Lanzhou; Hunan and Yunnan; Hunan and Guilin. There are other railway lines like Guangzhou-Maoming and Guangzhou to Shantou, which links the eastern and western part of the city.
The two major railway stations in this city are Guangzhou Railway Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station. Railway construction between Guangzhou and is almost complete. Buses run between these two cities every day. You can avail of train services to Guangzhou East Railway Station or Guangzhou Railway Station from where you can board a bus to Shenzhen, plying at intervals of fifteen to thirty minutes daily. You can reach Guangzhou Railway Station located on the Huanshi Xi Lu in the northwestern part of Guangzhou in China, can be reached fast by public buses. Again from Guangzhou East Railway Station, you can proceed to Kowloon of Hong Kong on a direct train.
Another railway service is available from Yuehai Railway, which has come to function from December 5, 2004. You will be impressed to know that a new Guangzhou New Railway Station at Zhongcun Village in Panyu is being constructed, which is scheduled to function from 2008. At that time, this station will be one of four railway passenger transport hubs in China.
