The garden is divided in to five parts and there are more than 30 scenic spots. The most outstanding part of the garden is the Great Rockery which was built with about 2000 tons of rocks. It also features perilous peaks, cliffs, winding caves and gorges.

The Yuyuan Pagoda in Shanghai is claimed to be the most magnificent rockery during the Ming Dynasty in Southeast China. The Yangshan Hall and the Juanyu Tower face each other across a lake. Once could enjoy beautiful sights and fish swimming in the water.
