The Chinese are believed to have the oldest continuous civilization with over 4000 years of history. - The common greeting, apart from the modern handshake, is bowing or nodding. One should wait for the host to offer their hands first.
- The crowd applauses as a gesture of greeting and the same are expected in return.
- Many Chinese want to consult with the stars or wait for an auspicious day to make a decision.
- It is important to develop a working knowledge of Chinese culture, and to allow the latter to leave a meeting before you do.
