Shenzhen Health & Hospital Information
Following the expansion in the travel industry, Shenzhen has seen to it that tourists are treated to the amenities of contemporary health and hospitality. New hospitals have come up in certain parts of the city so as to target patients from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as overseas. The plan was announced by the health chief of Shenzhen, Jian Hanping in consultation with the Ministry of Health in China. The ministry means to extend their services to the needs of a fast-growing number of foreigners who live or work in Shenzhen, or are here for travel purposes, as well as for wealthy local patients. The Aigun Hospital, with investment from entrepreneurs of Taiwan, is scheduled to be erected in the sub-district of Longhua in Bao’an, with around 600 beds in the inpatient department. Approved by the Ministry of Health in 2005, the hospital is the second of its kind to be built with overseas funding in Shenzhen. Aigun is also linked with the Harvard Medical School.
The bureau of health has also been holding talks with the Wisdom International Management Co. Ltd. of Britain about another hospital, which will provide patients with facilities of outdoor patient treatment as well as in-house services. Health issues of women and children are to be the focus, with 300 beds for inpatients. With such initiatives being undertaken by the ministry, the lay visitor will hardly have to put on their thinking caps, as far as health and hospital information is concerned.
