There are some generic etiquettes and behavior which one should follow and put up once being in the mesmerizing country of China.

Foreigners and tourists are welcome in every corner of the world and the situation in not that different in China also, however people should be little careful about certain things and should take care not to offend the local populace.

Tourists and foreigners should be careful not to shout at local Chinese in public as it would tantamount to insulting them which will make them lose their face. So if there are any issues it should be solved amicably and in private.

The Chinese people have a tremendous value for relationships and would often regard good social relationships as a symbol of prosperity and well being. So if one doesn't have proper connections it means that he is not a true Chinese.

It is not in the Chinese culture to brag about oneself so it is important to understand that the tourists and foreigners should not indulge in certain kind of behavior while mingling with the local people.

It is better to speak English selectively and in an accent that the audience is comfortable with and one should resort to using slang, colloquialism, and cracking unnecessary jokes.

There a certain gifts which are associated with death and should be avoided like giving gifts in groups of four, clocks and it is better that one avoids white.

Business relationships should be nurtured and nourished rather than hurried because that can bring it to an abrupt end.

There is a dining etiquette which one should follow while eating, like not dropping chopsticks as it is supposed to bring bad luck.

If one is a little careful and respectful towards others then one is sure to have a nice time in China in general and Xian in particular.
