Health and Safety Hurghada

It is always understood that while on a pleasure trip, when you intend to relax and rewind, illness is the last concern on your mind. However, it is always wise to take recourse to some kind of preventive measures to avoid messing up your trip; because as they say, prevention is better than cure. Though there are quite a few reputed and efficient hospitals and medical establishments in the resort city of Hurghada - one of them being the renowned El Salam Hospital in Hurghada - it would be well worth your while to avoid any kind of a long term stay at any of these places.

In general, the Egyptian government does not requite you to go through any special medical routine and take any special vaccinations to allow your entry into the country. So if you have the regular types of doses for Hepatitis A and B, diphtheria, polio and tetanus, then it's perfectly fine for you. However, should you still fall ill after you reach the city of Hurghada, then all the established hotels in the city of Hurghada have the provision of calling in a doctor for your benefit. The other convenience that the city of Hurghada affords you is that all the local pharmacies are conversant in English and are experts in detecting the ailments. However, it would do you good to carry some basic medicines to heal insect bites, burns and sunburns and stomach upset. However, if you have a conditional problem, then a travel health insurance is highly recommended. Also it is recommended that you carry rare medicines, as it is likely that it may not be available in the city.
