Cairo the capital city of Egypt lies on the banks of Nile River in northern part of Egypt. Officially known by the name of Al-Qahirah, Cairo is the most populous metropolitan city in African continent.

Officially founded in AD 969 Al-Qahirah or Cairo was earlier known by the name of Al- Fustat and was founded in AD 641. Fustat became regional center of Islam only during the period of Umayyad. Throughout the Egypt history, Cairo city underwent many radical changes that were visible in the form of world famous structures mainly in the Islamic world.

Cairo is not only the capital city of Egypt but is the nucleus of Egypt in every aspect. Whether it is economy or religion or culture or tourism, Cairo has proved its identity in true sense. Cairo having history of 2000 years old is still the melting pot of Islamic, Coptic Christianity and Jewish cultures.

Egyptian Museum and Cairo Opera House are the two gems of the Cairo that make this city more fascinating and attractive. Getting around in this metropolitan city of Egypt is also easy as Cairo has an extensive network of road and train along with the subway system and the maritime services. The subway system locally called, as "The Metro" is the most efficient and quick way of getting around Cairo. Cairo also has its own international airport known by the name of Cairo International Airport.
