It was founded in 1932 and it is the members of the FIBA since 1933.

The Paris Basket Racing, or PBR, is the most popular basketball club in Paris. This French basketball club is based in Paris. It was founded in 1922 as a section of the Racing Club de Paris. The team adopted the name "Paris Basket Racing" in the year 2000. It is probably best-known outside France as the club that produced current NBA star Tony Parker. This club has chosen their uniform colors as vibrant White and Blue. This club has a wonderful home arena named, Stade Pierre de Coubertin.

The Stade Pierre de Coubertin is one of the best indoor arenas in Paris, France. It is the home venue of the Paris Basket Racing basketball club. The Stade Pierre de Coubertin opened in 1937 for the Universal Exposition. This grand structure was destroyed in the war of World War II in 1946. It was rebuilt after the war was over to its present form. At present the arena has a capacity of 4,835 seats. The stadium which is the pride of Paris was once used as a detention center during the Paris massacre of 1961. In addition to be the home of the Paris BR, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin also hosts the annual fencing Grand Prix and a women tennis tournament.
